I bought mine at Home Depot. They were giving 10% off with free delivery and no payment for a long time. This is the range except double convection. Then I paid a extra $100 for several years of insurance on anything going wrong. The price shown here is less than what I paid. Oh well too late now. They have local warehouses everywhere so you get it delivered locally very quick. They set it up and take out the old one for an extra $1. I think Home Depot got me for extra money. Anyway I love the oven. I do not know what double convection means. the bottom drawer is for a warming area. keeps food warm. Ask a salesman about double convection or phone home depot. maybe they gave me a sales pitch. who knows. Double convection must mean that the lower warming drawer has a fan. big deal. This place sells it for $899. with no sales tax. I paid sales tax. And maybe 10% off or maybe that is the 10% and free delivery. That is definitely less than I paid at Home Depot. You might look for it elsewhere on the internet. I did not think to look on the internet for an oven with free delivery. I bought it at home depot because I have a credit card from them and I do not have to pay for several months and no interest for several months. Who knows. Anyway I love the oven. It is terrific. The cook top is great also. It does take a little time to get used to the stove. It is all computer controlled. I do not think it matters where you buy this. It all comes from the warehouses and is free delivery direct from them. So you will get the same stove may as well get the best price. You might still have to pay sales tax if bought on the internet. check it out. check on removal of the old stove and insurance against problems with the stove. It is complex so I paid the insurance in case the computer goes bad. Or I crack the top or something. oops here is dual convection but not shown in stainless steel. First - prevention- yrs ago in a class (yes they had them in the 80s) on how to use a microwave oven my teacher taught us to cover what you are cooking with a loose sheet of wax paper - this really helps! I understand you can use foil on the convention only setting - but I haven't tried it. Second - a micro-convection oven is a different animal and Whirlpool instructions are pathetic! The inside is only metal around the fan - the rest is some plastic/synthetic product. A. Try not to let this project get too far ahead of you - the longer you wait the more the gunk gets baked on and is harder to remove. B. Take out all the removal parts - turntable, shelves, etc. They can be easily washed in the sink. C. Put a bowl of water with vinegar or lemon juice in for a couple of minutes to steam the interior. Then while the oven is still warm use a sponge with a scrubby back to wipe down and use some elbow grease on gunk. D. Burnt on grease around the metal fan - Once I have cleaned as much as possible with dishsoap and scrubby, I use a Magic Eraser - these will get it clean but not like new. Be careful to get the fan openings clear - if magic eraser gets stuck on them - use a clean sponge with water to wipe them. Please let me know if this helps anyone.

The buttons were a problem, not because of how they look, but because they don't really 'seat' in anything behind the panel, so they tend to shift a little, so don't necessarily 'catch' and control things on the first try. Like spinning it and not getting any changes. Or the main button sticks and then the rest don't respond. If you try it a couple times, it will eventually work, but that shouldn't have to be the case. Just not a great design...Unless they've made a change. The one I had was one of the first of that style. As for 'clean'...It's a clean looking design, but mirrored black glass only stays that way with some work and constant attention. With the amount of baking we do and the number of kids working in my kitchen who don't pay that much attention to 'detailing' the appliances, I wasn't a fan. I can recommend it as having great baking performance, and the racks work nicely. I wouldn't recommend self-cleaning unless you don't mind the pits and chipping in the porcelain that may occur. I have to say they were great about replacing my first oven for that, and not all F&P ovens seem to have that problem, but having it happen twice to me, I'd just avoid self-cleaning. That's disappointing, since it should work and not damage the oven...but I think it's a risk. At least it didn't seem to fry the electronics as it did with earlier F&P ovens and other brands, which makes me think they learned from that and did something to make sure the electronics were protected during the high heat. I would buy the old F&P oven again (stainless front, blue interior), but one experience with the black mirror finish doors was enough for me. Too many finger prints and smears, and it doesn't take much of that to make it look yucky.

I had a micro convection that I bought before my daughter was born (she is 24). It was a Sears and over $700 in the early 80s. Big on the outside but on the inside too. Used the combination cooking for t-day turkey, brisket, roasts, casseroles, and used the convection for baking. It was wonderful even if it sucked up all my counter space. When I literally couldn't fit in on the counter in this house, my daughter inherited it for her kitchenette. When it died last year I replaced it (for her) with a Maytag since installing otr was not an option. The one time I used it I was disappointed. Am redoing my kitchen now, and wanted induction range, double ovens, warming drawer and micro convection. However, I have no solid walls for wall mounted ovens and have only electricity in the house (no gas) so I think I am going with a Electrolux drop in range which has convection and a second oven down low and a miele speed oven micro convection. If you ever use the micro-convection combination, you will restrict your straight micro use to popcorn only. I love it and look forward to having it again.
