Fisher Paykel Ovens Won't Heat Up
Comments (4)I do remember that there were FP ovens a while ago that were having the self cleaning wire-problem, but there haven't been any instances for quite a while now. Hmm...were you ovens manufactured a while ago (ie did you get a floor model)? We purchased a floor model in the Iridium finish that was discontinued in 10/2006. I've run the self clean on both ovens a couple times now and have not had any problems....See MorePlease Show & Tell - Fisher Paykel Double Ovens
Comments (3)I had one. Unfortunately, it was one of the first ones off the line, and it needed the clock mechanism that also held the timer knob replaced and it took while to find the part...which they finally took off another floor model. (WHich is why the knob itself is missing in the top photo) The other unfortunate thing, which I haven't heard of happening for any other F&P owners, is that the porcelain in mine pitted/chipped after running the self-clean. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't right to have it happen. For baking performance, it was WONDERFUL (even temperature and nicely browned baked goods), and the roll-out racks are nice, although not full-extension. F&P had trouble finding service people to help me in my more rural area, so they bought back the oven and I started over. After buying a Monogram and having much lower quality performance and problems with how it was made to operate, I wished I'd held onto the F&P and just patched the porcelain. I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of the mirrored doors, as we bake a LOT and with kid bakers, it always seemed to have fingerprints and smears....See MoreDouble Oven Dilemma- Viking vs. Miele vs. Fisher & Paykel (or others?)
Comments (15)@Whitney Marlow - I understand your concern. Yale appliance has a blog you might find helpful. They sell AND service and have information you might find useful. I remember reading and watching about the new Thermador - if I recall correctly they stated that they updated the exterior but made little to no changes to the actual oven. Thermador is owned by Bosch. Bosch double ovens do NOT have knob controls. Monogram has good reviews, but Haier has now taken over. I am trying to support products made in the USA, not China. My experience with F & P is limited. It's not a brand that gets a lot of press where I live. I see mostly Wolf, Thermador and Blue Star around me....See MoreAnyone have experience with a Fisher Paykel French Door Refrigerator?
Comments (2)I have a FD Fisher Paykel refrigerator. We will have had it 2 yrs in Oct 2021. It works great and was the only fridge that was shallow enough and truly even close to counter depth that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I don't like the pull out freezer drawer but there are two smaller drawers and they do OK as long as you are neat :). The water filter for the ice maker is $80 a year but it does a great job and is easy to change. It is a very cold fridge and keeps everything very fresh. I have no complaints. We haven't needed any service so I can't speak to that. We did get a great deal when we bought it and got a 5 yr warranty....See Morerhome410
