Built in coffee maker
Comments (2)I have one of the original 220volt Miele's and have had / use the Gaggenau and Kuppersbusch systems too. They make a pretty good cup o Joe according to people that have had them out of my machines. ( I don't drink coffee) The true coffee/ espresso connoisseurs scoff at these superautomat type machines as not being very good, but I have my doubts especially considering there are very few of those around. It basically boils down to cost and lifestyle. It's cool factor is high and it has flexibility to offer several different products: coffee, tea, espresso , cappuccino, and the newer/fancier ones have the option for a second type of coffee - say decaf and a water hook up so you don't have to fill a container. So, it's a convenience product too. There are a few drawbacks, cost for sure - they start at around $1500 and go up, they have to be built into a cabinet and their size means only a few other things will fit the space if you change your mind. They also require a bit of maintenance to keep running properly and long term. It's more involved than throwing away the grounds/filter and rinsing out the Mr.Coffee pot. They can also take a bit of time/cups to get dialed in for your tastes as there are adjustments for amount of grounds, their size ect.......See MoreBrew Express of other built in coffee makers
Comments (3)I too had a older Brew Express, but I recently changed to a newer 10 cup. I spoke with them and understood when I bought my original unit it was a new model to the market when it first came out, but it went through improvements over time. They told me it was designed and tested to the coffee industry standards. I was suprised to find coffee is best brewed at around 195-200f at the spray-head, and no heater plate was actually better. When I complained to Brew Express people they understood, but I didn't understand that the temperature drops quite a bit going into a stainless carafe. I also found that they did improve the older model quite a bit since the time I had bought it, but then they found it was necessary to create a better looking brewer, and one that could be more reliable. I also heard they changed to a 10 cup so it will hold better heat. I decided to change to a 10 cup because I couldn't resist the price as an existing customer and that it fit into the same installation box. I was skeptical at first, but they truly improved it. Did you know the new unit can brew 1 cup not just for coffee? It can also adjust the amount for a larger cup. My wife loves it for making tea and coco. I am glad Brew Express improved their product. Yes, it cost me twice, but it is still worth saving counter space and never adding water. That is my two cents. Fred...See MoreMax height to place Miele built in coffee maker?
Comments (15)Judy, We ended up changing things around. We lowered the XXL steam oven so that it ended at 42" AFF, allowing us to put a full size drawer below it and started the coffee maker at 42", ending at 60". This allowed us to put a very usable cabinet above the coffee maker with two sliders so that we could reach the back of what would now be a 24" deep cabinet. As with everything it is trade-offs. I think if there were no other considerations at all the ideal height is more or less 42" to 60" and my thought was that bending a bit to use the oven was worth having the coffee maker easily accessible and in optimal location. Having said that, I think ending it at 6' is perfectly fine and if we had gone w/ the regular 18" size oven I am sure we would have done that. Once we went to 24", cabinet wise, it was much easier to either do one full size cabinet below (ending coffee maker at 5') or to keep the oven at counter height and end the coffee maker at 6'-6", which by all accounts was too high. In between was problematic....See MoreHow do I put the infuser back into my Wolf built-in coffee maker?
Comments (3)After some time on the phone with Wolf, we finally figured out that the tube at the bottom of the infuser was extended. It's like a suction tube so it wasn't moving at all, nor did I think it was movable. Turns out, it was in an extended position and once it was pushed back into place, the infuser fit back into the machine....See Morespruce40
