Can you detect a click from the solenoid below the carb when you turn the key to on? If not, check for another chewed wire and a blown fuse. Has the machine been run at all this spring? If you unhook the kill wire will it run? Was the engine run w/ the mouse nest?

DA, I have not checked the Microsoft website for this problem. The manufacturer is Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000. When my youngest son helped me build the last computer, he bought the keyboard and mouse along with the other parts. It was put together in Key West in 2006. But it crashed and I wasn't able to get it going again so I bought another Desktop at Walmart when they had one on sale after Thanksgiving. I only paid 350.00 plus tax for it. Dcarch, I am talking about the mouse used with the desktop, I can not disable a touch tablet because there is not one on the desktop. I was using the laptop to post about the problem. Laptop does not have the problem since I use a Logitech M205 model Notebook mouse with the laptop.

ilmbg- I doubt that the problem has anything to do with Pentium vs. Atom. Are you sure it's not there and just listed generically in your Control Panel? Also, have you opened Control Panel / Mouse to check out all of the various settings and options? Sometimes you have to disable the mousepad in order for an external mouse to have precedence, or you have to enable an option for both to work at the same time.
