I have exchanged views on this forum on my problem copying a past email folder from back up of an older copy of Thunderbird on to a new computer (old machine has HDD problems). I had commented that I had just accomplished the same task on a Dell PC two months ago.
Looking I see the Dell is running Thunderbird 1.0.7 and my new Gateway notebook has the latest: 1.5.0.9 (that's a big gap in numbers, makes me wonder how many issues there are in between). I also noted that the Dell has a folder "chome" and the Gateway doesn't. This file is at the same level in the file system as the "mail" folder. This makes me wonder if I have a bad load on the TB 1.5.0.9. I may try an uninstall and install the older version of TB and see if that will allow me to bring in the back up mail folder I need.
