Yes, also bought three Totos for this house from Nat'l Builder Supply as they had the best price at the time. I let price drive my decisions usually though try to support local businesses when feasible. The only caution I'd suggest with ordering on-line is to research the company's reviews as there are some with poor service.

I bought a Kohler online from the Home Depot website. They shipped to my town's store for free. I'm pretty sure I did have to pay sales tax, but it was the best deal I could find on that model.

I did! I got a Toto Eco Drake from homeclick.com with free shipping and a great price. I think it was around 230 shipped, including the softclose seat. The packaging was impressive, each section (tank & bowl) came in its own giant box with that expanding foam all around it. The toilet's been installed about a week and works great - no cracks or issues whatsoever!!

I just ordered my toto Lloyd from Amazon.com. I ordered a very expensive sink that I returned because we changed our mind on size, and they arranged shipping return. It was so easy and pleasant.

I also bought 3 Totos from National Builders Supply and they arrived promptly and in perfect condition.

Also from Homeclick.com, ordered a TOTO Ultramax without an issue.

But I won't use my credit card over the computer (I use Amazon gift cards when I order) so that would be quite a stack of gift cards for me to use (but it could be done!) Mostly I buy books from them & the random small appliance (fantastic Sanyo rice cooker & Breville electric wok!) I wish Amazon would let customers place phone orders...I would purchase more frequently from them if that were the case. So glad your return was hassle free!

yes, i ordered our mbr toilet on line along with many other bathroom items....no problems with most of it!!

however, a (very expensive)towel radiator that i ordered was installed and didn't work---but it wasn't installed for months after i had ordered it(bathroom took WAY longer than i expected)...it was very expensive and i was very concerned---i contacted the towel warmer manufacturer directly rather than trying to deal with the online supplier---and was able to exchange it (eventually!) without any cost-more of a hassle than if i had gone thru a local store i'm sure, but a worthwhile savings in cost!!!

I ordered 3 totos from faucetdirect.com

2 of 3 came damaged. the boxing on mine was not impressive, and 2 of the 3 boxes were somewhat crushed, one of those was fine, the one in the good box was broken.

we inspected when they were being delivered and refused delivery, called up faucetdirect sent new ones, those were fine and delivered quickly.

they did seem to indicate tht the process was more involved if I actually accepted them and did a return reorder etc.

I'd consider doing it again, but I think next time I'd check locally as well and see what they could do on price I was on the edge of my seat until they were installed to see if they were fine

sg, this is the 2nd house we've used Totos and have not had problems with any, although have not lived with them more than 5 years. Strong flush, water efficient, love the soft close lid.

I would add that after ordering about $23,000 worth of fittings, fixtures and appliances for my renovation online, only one item arrived with damage, and it was the fault of the vendor, not the freight co.
It's very safe in my experience.

Many cards, perhaps most, have a function (albeit online at their site) to generate "virtual credit card numbers." For my Citicard, these expire the next month, so if they leak out they are of limited use to miscreants. I think you can also limit them to a single use or vendor, and limit the dollar amount, but I haven't done that (I should).

I bought a Toto online ~5 years ago from buyplumbing.net; they billed me for shipping even though it was advertised as free, but refunded when I pointed that out. It arrived fine.

Atto, thanks for pointing the credit card option out. That does sound like an interesting thing to pursue for credit card purchases online. I'll check into that.

I recently ordered 2 Toto toilets and a bunch of other stuff from Homeclick. The shipping was not super fast, but I was impressed with the way the toilets were packed- very careful job. All of the items I had ordered (7 in all) were in boxes, placed on top of a pallet, then wrapped in clear plastic. The delivery guy put the items in my garage for me, pallet and all. Nothing was damaged. Very happy with the experience.
