I installed and use it some.. works fine. Opens really fast, much like chrome with the tabs.

I looked at requirements... xp .. is listed, no service pack levels mentioned.

Everything I've read says it is much faster, but I'm more interested in reliability.

Just install it over it... it will uninstall the old,, and will update to the newer RC's as they come out automatically and to the final version 4 too. Is what it said anyhow. It is fast everything from what I see on my pc.

FF 4 is supposed to be a major upgrade, right ? Is anyone who's trying RC4 having any trouble with one's profile settings (bookmarks, mouse gestures, etc.) being set up properly ? I'd really rather not try it unless I'm sure everything's going to come over without issues.

I say again and again, betas and RCs are not finished products. Use them at your own risk, and remember if and when things go bad there may be no assistance available as the concern may be product dedicated.

There has been 12 beta releases on this version and they don't quite have it right yet. This version history and of the prior versions is available below.

Firefox is so easy to uninstall if its not liked. And saves the settings mostly for reinstall of any version.

Only problem I saw was it was it didnt save my cookie set up... I block all *, then make allows for like here in gweb for login.

Of course it is as always user choice.

I take this position as it may be easy for you and me along with other experienced members to just uninstall as we don't become overly concerned when issues develop. But, what if the resulting concern from a RC or beta that has been promoted/encouraged here at the forum is beyond just uninstalling. Sure we know all too often the resulting action is nothing more than a remedial response. However, we have here at the forum many novice members, newbies if you may, who may not be prepared for the possible derision a beta, or in this case a RC, may cause.

I encourage members to just wait for the official release regardless of the nature of the application.

I tried it and didn't care for it. Several of my Add Ons were not compatible with it....multi row bookmarks, personas, colorful tabs and one other one. All my settings were still there when I removed it and went back to 3.6.15.

There still collecting data on those sort of issues.

I've been running the Beta version since it came out. And liking this RC4 Version now. I have also reduced the # of add / ons I usually use. The more things we add the more likely a problem will develop and slow down the whole works. Less is more lol..
