    FF is my main browser also. Installed the update earlier today. Can't see any difference yet good or indifferent. But then again I don't look for much, it is just a means to get online really.

    The newer version of Firefox (not sure which one you were using) has spellcheck and add-ons that are very helpful.

    I meant to include that I have 1.5.0.12 now.

    I like the spellcheck idea.

    Guesss I'll take a look.

    Thanks.

    How does on determine what version one has?

    I got the message to the affect ' a new Firefox has been downloaded' 'restart to install' so having nothing better to do I restarted and immediate got another message to the ' there is an even newer version ready to download'. Reminiscent of MSN.

    (Thanks to bob414.)

    The first thing I noticed, it has only been a half day, is that the "previous" and "next" and "start over" are all missing from QUICK FIND.

    Perhaps I need an new quick find?

    When you talk about "Spell Check" is this in reference to Firefox the browser or Thunderbird the e-mail program. I have Firefox 2.0.0.4 with no Spell Check

    Do I or don't I want the new firefox? I just rebooted & got the the same message as the rest of U. FireFox is my default browser & has been since it came out or at least when I heard of it.
    I know that sometimes "new & improved" is not always better.

    If it helps, I let it download without even thinking about it. I didn't add anything except what I already had 'Flashblock and IE Tab.' It came through on the download. I don't notice any difference. Looks the same to me and acts the same. Glad I didn't read these posts, I probably would have hesitated.

    No difference. I always had spell check on Firefox. It's not listed as an add-on. I just thought FF always had it.

    Here's a link to a page listing Firefox features: Take a look at the second one.

    I found these instructions for fixing QUICK FIND:

    To restore the next/previous buttons etc to the quick search bar, that pops up at the bottom of the browser, add the following to your userChrome.css file:

    #FindToolbar > *
    ( display: -moz-box;
    )

    but I cannot figure out how to find userChrome.css.

    I'm just now getting around to checking this out.

    As I see it, I don't think I need/want anything from v2.0.0.4 other than spellcheck. Google pack, etc seems like overkill.

    Jane, which version of Firefox did you have before you downloaded v2.0.0.4 that had spellcheck? Maybe I missed an update.

    TIA,

    I have no idea. I've had spell check for a while, 6 months maybe. I never asked for it. Just appeared. I updated to the latest version this week and don't notice anything different.I don't see Googlepack (have no idea what that is). FF looks and acts completely the same as it always has. The features they are talking about must be something you add yourself. It didn't come on mine.
    Sorry I can't help about spell-check.
