E - MAIL spam everyone gets them, there really is no place to forward them,

Best thing to do is delete them.

Zep is right, just delete any Spam and move on. Unfortunately Spam is not going away any time soon and to give more than 2 seconds of thought to what to is is futile.

6 in a week. I would be happy if I only got 6 in a day!

Just delete.

Never click on anything in the email that says it will remove you from their list. That just shows you are a live account and you get more Spam.

Be very cautious about where you use your "real" email address.

when you select to delete be certain you send them to junk/spam file/folder which every your email has so that your filters can learn what items you select as junk mail. Sending directly to trash bin by passes your junk mail filters. You want it to see what you want to be considered junk or spam.

Ha ha, I never realised I had that folder. Guess I need to get around more and pay attention. Thanks ravencajun, I'll start using that and see where we go. Lately I have been very fortunate, the amount of Spam is negligible, hopefully it might stay that way

Tens of millions of these spam/phishing messages are sent out everyday around the world, so the burden is on each recipient to trash them. There is no person or agency you can forward these to who will deal with them, unless you are talking about something that is clearly evidence of a major crime having been perpetrated.

OK- I had been just deleting them- not putting them in spam.
A problem for me is when I am looking at an email- if I delete that email, the next email opens automatically- and I have opened bad emails by mistake this way. I use Yahoo. Is there something I can do with my Yahoo so it doesn't automatically go to the next email when I delete the prior one? This makes me have to do a lot of 'clicking' so it doesn't open automatically.

There might be a setting. I don't use my yahoo acct. much lately. But can't you read through the email in inbox, check the spam then hit spam? All those checked will go to spam filter.

ilmbg, when you are logged in to your yahoo mail, you should see "Options", (on mine it is in the right upper corner), choose that and then go to "General Preferences". At the very bottom there is the choice of "go to the next message" or "go back to the original folder". You will also see a choice under "Folders/Special Search Results" to have all unsolicited incoming e-mail to go directly to the "Bulk", aka, "Spam" folder.

If you are downloading to Outlook Express you need to turn the Preview Pane off.
