Anyone have a pet proof toilet paper holder?
Comments (13)Wish I knew! My dog also likes to play with the paper, or punish us for daring to leave the house without him. However, since my dog is a 110lb German Shepherd, there really isn't anything out of his reach if he really wants it, and he has the intellegence/determination of the average 6yr old boy (Probably even more!) The smartest solution would be a closed door, since the one thing he can't get past is the lack of an opposable thumb, but in our home with the 130yr old doors, I don't have a good system to lock them, so the signal the bathroom is in use is a closed door. 5 people vs one German Shepherd - he wins. ;-) However if he ever masters that opposable thumb thing - he's gonna take over the world. Always ;-) Hunzi...See MoreToilet paper holder placement
Comments (6)The only advice I recall seeing is that you just need to "feel" it out--you and whomever else shares the bathroom just need to take a seat on the toilet and figure out what is a comfortable reach without bumping anything. (Also, if you have a holder that's L-shaped--that is, the TP roll slides onto an 'arm' and it's not one of the holders where the TP roll snaps into place between two arms, you'll want to consider how the TP rolls out. My experience with the former showed that if you don't place the opening in the right direction, one good pull of the TP will whip that roll right off the holder.)...See Morepaper towel holders, placement
Comments (7)I like my brushed stainless Martha Stewart portable paper towel holder that I just got a few weeks ago. After going without one for so many years, I really appreciate having somewhere to put my PT, and I think it looks inconspicuous on the counter. I decided against putting a holder inside a cabinet because I sometimes have wet hands when I reach for one....See MoreReserve toilet paper holder placement
Comments (11)I have blocking in the wall for the TP holder, and that is actually why I asked about placement of the reserve, as I am adding blocking for that too. We have had a horizontally installed open ended toilet paper holder for years with no issue. Perhaps it's the placement of our holder on the wall to the right of the toilet (rather than the back wall), combined with our favored under vs. over hanging of the roll, but the roll does not get pulled off. I have already purchased the holder and the reserve, and will be using one of each....See Morepharaoh
