yes you can use a usb thumb drive or you can upload them to an online storage facility then move them from there to the other netbook if you want them there. Or if you have a stand alone cd/dvd usb unit you can use that. some netbooks have a slot for a memory card also if you have the pictures on a memory card in your camera you can use that to move them and you can also use a memory card just like you would a usb drive, insert it in your pc (or a card reader that is plugged into the usb port) move the pictures to it then insert the memory card into your netbook memory card slot and upload them off of the card. I have a net book also and have never missed the cd/dvd drive at all. I much prefer to use the other options mentioned.

bee4mee, check out this website. Carphonewarehouse is apparently one of the biggest cell retailers in the UK. I just have to figure out which phone, which SIM card. I can place my order and pick up my phone(s!) when I get there from the store of my choice, closest to whatever hotel I'm staying. For the price - $21 for a phone with a bit of airtime on it - I might buy two to use as 'walkie talkies' and top off as needed! Most advice says to 'rent' a phone in the States so you have it with you. I knew there had to be equivalent mobile stores like we have here, from Best Buy, Target, heck even my grocery stores sells phones so it had to be possible to buy a go-phone in London. Took me a bit but I found one (several, but carphonewarehouse seems to be the daddy). I'll figure out later if I keep the phones for friends who travel, future Europe trips (buying SIMs as necessary) or just sell 'em on ebay. Anyone have a tutorial on web access through a cell phone? My eyeballs are crossed. My DH has an iphone so I know that we have unlimited 'data' for the $20 or $30/month. I'm getting confused with charges per day, per minute, MB bundles. Thanks all! Most likely if you're getting that message---> Please wait while Windows configures Skype 4.2. ---> you're uninstalling through the add/remove programs in normal mode. Every time that you reboot, the program will begin at start up if configured to and a registry key will run. Try to Boot to safe mode and uninstall the Program if you continue to have problems. Skype probably runs as a service as well as at start up. Booting into safe mode will prevent the program from starting up and doesn't load the registry keys. Once you have done that, click on your C:Drive > Program files > and delete all the Skype folders found. See if that helps. Donna

That disc should work. You should actually put the disc in and boot from it to see if it boots and presents the recovery options that it's intended to provide. You can also use a Vista repair disc on a windows 7 machine and a Win 7 repair disc on a Vista machine. All the repair disc does is provide access to recovery options already present on the computer. Those are the same options available if you press the F8 Key during restart. So boot from the disc you made and you should see these options: Start up Repair System Restore System Image Recovery You would need to have a system image somewhere for that option to work.
