Help, why are my glass tiles so dull?!?
Comments (39)You can try to wax them. Every shell mosaic manufaturer after they polished the mosaic chips and stick in a sheet, they have one step is waxing. After waxing, the chips will become very shiny. After construction, there will be having some dirty thing on the surface. That's the reason that is dull. Hoping this is useful for you. And the right way for installing that kind of shell mosaic is following: Construction way of our mother of pearl mosaic and tiles. We can lay glue or adhesive (We suggest to use tiny granule glue or white grout) on the wall and then put the mosaic on the wall by hand until the gap is filled with glue or grout (the hand pressure should be well-proportioned). After 30 minutes (for tiny granule glue 20 minutes is okay), you can clean the surface of the mosaic by dry soft cloth. 3.Shell Panel Application & Installation Commonly use to the backing such as MDF, Marble, Ceramic, Calcium Silicate Board, Plasterboard, Acryl and Metal. Using AB adhesive or all-purpose adhesive, apply even coat of adhesive to the panel and wall, and waiting for 5 to 8 minutes, then press it carefully to the wall. Immediately wipe off excess adhesive with a soft wet cloth, and dry with a clean soft cloth afterwards. 4. Protection and Cleaning 1. Please wipe the surface with charpie to reduce the nick; 2. Please clean the surface with neutral detergent; 3. Please wax shell mosaic surface regular time; Please Attention 1.Do not irradiate the surface with 100W above light. 2. The detergent should be faintly acid, because the content of shell mosaic are CaCO3; 3.Would better use tham soft cloth clean the surface, and wax them regular time for keeping the shiny. Comments (9)If the needle is not picking up the bobbin thread, the needle thread is not making the full rotation around the bobbin and that usually means the thread is hanging up halfway around the bobbin casing and collecting in loops. My new machine (Singer)has a drop-in bobbin with a transparent plate over it, so what was happening was easy to see. It wouldn't be with a side mount bobbin or a metal slide over it. You may want to pull back the slide and turn the wheel a full rotation and watch what is transpiring with the loop of needle thread. Sounds to me like it is catching somewhere on the bobbin chase. When this happens to me, it's usually caused by the (oh gosh I don't know the technical term for it) lever what goes up and down holding the thread as it drops down the front of the machine. It has usually had too much slack and slipped off, totally screwing up the upper tension. Another time it was because when I seated the bobbin it was not seated all the way into the spindle and protruded too much. This new machine just has a very tricky tension and it does this occasionally with no particular reason. Othewise it's a fun machine. Watch to see what is going on when the needle thread makes that rotation around the bobbin to catch the bobbin thread if you can. I think you'll see it isn't completing it....See MoreCloudy Stain/Fog on Glass Cooktop
Comments (9)Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! Really appreciate it. :) So at this point, the general consensus seems to be that I should get some glass cooktop cleaner. I noticed that some of you mentioned "brown" residue. Will the cooktop cleaner work for the white, milky haze that I talked about as well? Again, I've tried wiping it off with regular soap (which is obviously not strong enough), but it disappears for a moment or two and comes right back. Will the cooktop cleaner fix this? Thanks!...See MoreI'm so frustrated with my Kohler Karbon!
Comments (38)Freeoscar, it's nonsense in California because it still takes just as much water to do a task, it just takes longer to do the task if the water is coming out slower. I need water to rinse my hair ... if it comes out of the tap slower, I just need to stand there longer to get the soap out! Yes, we are in the midst of an epic drought, but forced conservation that doesn't actually result in actual conservation seems stupid. There is not a restrictive valve on my outdoor hose, yet the water will trickle out of the restricted faucets indoors! In my area, they keep us in line with penalties for over using beyond your pre-determined household limit, but if you can afford the penalties, you can use the water....See MoreNunyabiz1
