sending you a Christmas Card

I want to tell you how much this past year has meant to me.

I joined in Feb and had no idea what was in store for me!!

The fun, the friendships, the inspiration and ideas, all the long nights I've spent here so happily. You've been a joy and a blessing, and nothing could be better than ringing in a NEW Year with you very soon.

Karen, What a sweet pic of your babies. And you're right, this has been a fun and interesting year or so for a lot of us. I'm looking forward to the next year also.

I've whittled my list down over the years, to a smaller number for several reasons. I don't like to send cards without a personal note of some sort inside and because of my business, this is one of my busiest times of the year and there are time constraints. I don't like to put people into the position of sending cards as an obligation. It should be a joy. I feel I've likely done them a kindness by dropping them from my list. I replace a Christmas card with a note or card some other time of the year. They can respond....or not. I've lost a good many relatives and friends over the years simply through death and the list goes smaller each year. That's the hardest one. The price of postage is getting prohibitory when you can only send two cards for a dollar.....one if it is going over the pond. I do not send out cards to my customers. If they're special to me, I'll make a trip to them and give them a gift.....but I dislike getting impersonal or imprinted cards made out by somebody's secretary. It just wastes a tree. If they have a good product, a card once a year doesn't matter or make them anymore likely to get my business. That given, my list is very personal and easy to handle now. I will choose (or make) a card I think is special. I don't look at the expense, but the thought presented. I'll be more likely to pick out cards for that reason so don't look for bargains. If they're inexpensive....fine. If they're pricey.........again fine. That means cards sent to make money for charities are considered. I'd rather the profit go toward a cause I support than a stockholder.

Noah passed away yesterday. My condolences to the family. this is the latest update. Our Angel Posted 18 hours ago After a long battle with Stage IV Neruorblastoma cancer, Monday morning at 8:02 AM, Noah Biorkman passed away at his home in South Lyon, Michigan. Scott and I, along with our families, would like to thank everyone for the continued support over the past few years during NoahÂs illness. As most of you know, Noah has received more than one million Christmas cards over the past few weeks. The outpouring of love and compassion has been remarkable and we are extremely grateful. We are now asking for everyone please respect our privacy during this very difficult time. The funeral services will be for family only. I always send TY cards, even if just a note. It's the way I was brought up. I guess I didn't do a very good job with my 2 daughters. They and others in their 20's and 30's. seem to appreciate gifts and being remembered at birthdays, etc because they do verbally thank everyone but they don't send anything written.My SIL recently sent an engagement gift to our nephew but got no response. She is rather P-O'd and says she plans to boycott the wedding. My guess is she sends gifts to get thank-you notes rather than as a token of her affection for young relatives.

Karen - Merry Christmas to you and yours. Your dogs are beautiful. I have only been here a couple of weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed your posts and pictures as well as everyone else. I can't believe that it took me so long to find this place. Thanks again for sharing your place with us.....

Jenn, that was one of those "lucky" shots with my camera.
I often take it out in the yard with the dogs as I'm a picture-holic. Those two run and play with each other, all the while holding their balls in their mouths. I was snapping pix one day and they'd stopped and looked right at me. It was one of those Kodak moments, LOL. Four of my SIX absolutely love to play ball, me throwing it I mean, LOL.
But Lotte and Karly developed their own game too.
Glad everyone enjoyed the pix, I thought it would make a cute card with their colorful squeaky balls.

Karen, Your babies are just so cute. I love the soft look in their eyes. Tells me they are very loving dogs. But then with you for their "momma" who wouldn't be?

This is just the perfect pic for a Christmas card. Thanks for sharing it with us, and your nice sentiments come right back at you--it has been such a pleasure getting to know you this past year.
