Looks like the product HP mini 210-2180NR Does not support that type of connection.(Multi-WWAN driver is not available for the HP Mini.) So there is no easy solution to use that type of connection on the mini, as far as I can see.

why not try using the HP chat which is available on their website it is very helpful. You can then talk more easily and understand better.

My gut reaction is that Verizon was too lazy or cheap to write the drivers for their product. As I read it, the Multi-WWAN driver is for devices that have wireless broadband hardware built-in.

I'd download the HP Multi-WWAN driver for a similar mini (make sure you get the matching O/S). Either the driver is going to install or it's going to balk at the lack of necessary hardware. I'd bet that even if it balks, the drivers get installed anyway.

If that doesn't work, I'd call Verizon and ask them to support their product. You're paid them for the device and continue to pay them for monthly access. HP Mini's are quite popular so you can't be the only person having this problem.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice on this. I finally decided to return it while I still can and do more research to see what is easily compatible to Verizon Wireless.

Verizon does have a model that has the 3G modem built in, I believe. But almost any regular laptop can use the Verizon USB modem. It just must have been that particular model of netbook that could not.

I use one on my HP mini netbook. I never had any problem with it. I purchased it at the Verizon phone store and they set it up for me and got it working. Has worked perfectly over a year.

Try bringing the mini into the Verizon store and let them hook it up.
