back again but new printer

I went and bought an all in one Kodak printer ESP3250 my son set it all up but time to print =-=nothing. We set up the Usp port cord with the old one It says printer not connected but it is. what steps should we check. I even went to add-remove and made sure the old Dell printer was removed. It seems to do like when old Dell quit printing. Are we omitting something. The sales girl said it was compatible with a Dell compiter XP Help! Many thanks.

Did your son follow the Kodak install instructions exactly? Some makes are very particular about this.

Since you have had a problem with 2 printers now better start checking other things. 1 Check the print spooler service, make sure it's set to automatic.

click on the Start button and select the RUN option from the start menu and type services.msc and click on ok. This will list out all the services. Now find print spooler and make sure its started. If not just right click on the option and start it and also set it as automatic.

I received a great box of goodies from Cathys1951!!!! She sent the following seeds: nepeta (catmint), lithops, chocolate Joe Pye weed, unknown sedum, calendula, sumac, yellow tansy, lanceleaf coreopsis, nicotiana, ladybells, cinnamon fern, globe amaranth, liatris, sneezeweed, yellow rose, & Phillipine lily. As if that wasn't enough she also sent this cute little pot scrubber set that the bottom looks like a pot & the top one looks like a flower. She also sent a little kit with pumpkin seeds, soil, etc. for kids (which my daughter has claimed), a weave basket planter, 2 pretty flower pot stakes with birds on them, a bag of 25 plant labels, & what I needed most, a waterhose attachment (I'm not kidding either. The one this one immediately replaced was duct taped because the trigger was broken). Thank you so much!!!

I've been using an HP Photosmart Premium for over a year with good results. The ink is a little pricey, but results are good. One of my requirements is a good photo print. It does well in that department. My wife bought a Lexmark last year. She prints only a few pages a day. At 6 months, it got a paper jam that could not be cleared. it was so bad that it messed up some of the internal delicate assemblies. After my wifehad a seance with Lexmark on-line, they did replace the printer - took 3 days - delivery to our door. Not long afterward, few of trhe jets on the print head clogged. Shipped it back the they replaced the print head. It has been 9 months since the last repair, and it is still working. Wife not the happiest about the printer, but it is now doing acceptable work for her. She is running it wireless through our ATT gateway. At present, we have 3 devices serviced by the gateway (combiation modem and router). My computer is connected by an ethernet line and her computer uses the WiFi side of the gateway. We've has as many as 3 computers simultaneously talking to the gateway without a problem. Ink cost for the Lexmark appears to be less per page than the HP. Again, the amount of black ink used will depend on how the prnters are installed. Both printers are installed to default to the draft mode. This is the fastest printing and uses only half the ink as "nornal" printing. If the printer is installed to print in "normal" mode, it uses a lot of black ink.

That's all I have here, Brother. I have Two Color Laser AIO Machines (MFC-9440cn & DCP-9040cn) and One Inkjet AIO Machine (MFC-845cw), also have a Brother Label Printer (QL-570). I've had them for many years and I have been very happy with my Brother Printers. I did have a Brother B&W Laser Printer before the Color Lasers (HL-1440). It worked great, sold it because of the Color Laser Printers! I know you're asking "Why Two Color Laser AIO Printers"? Well I purchased the MFC-9440cn for home. My wife kept threatening to take it to work with her (she worked in a Small Office). Well, one day I showed up at her work with a New Brother DCP-9040cn Color Laser AIO. I decided to make her happy and get her her own Color Laser Printer for work. The business has since closed and we brought the printer home.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother . Here's what I had to do for mom's funeral . I was traveling to Louisiana pulling the rv when I got a call from my sister that the funeral home needed the pictures emailed to them immediately so they could create the video and the memory books and the framed picture . I had all of my pictures . I sat in my passenger seat in the truck going down the road and took pictures of the pictures on my phone ! I then emailed all of those to the funeral home . I was so afraid it would be terrible but honestly they were fine no one knew they were pictures of pictures . So you could do that too and a much better job sitting still at a table ! They can be emailed or you can send them to a photo place for printing , Walmart , CVS , all sorts of places can do it . So thinking out side of the box might be the best option .

I checked what you said and he had that ok,I tried printing again and just got blank paper with a few lite printed words @@ top Can you think of anything else we should try like if we started from beginning what should be unplug remove etc. Thanks for your help

That sounds like the computer is communicating with the printer. Most printers have an internal method for printing a test page. Pull out the manual and see how this is done but it's usually accessed through the setup menu. Let's make sure the printer is functioning correctly before we do any additional troubleshooting.

Hey all! I had 3 different guys try to install that darn printer finally my husband asked a guy he know that works on computers-printers on the side. In about 5 minutes he told me to pack it up and take it back. He said it was the ink. Lucky me. Just letting you know and thank you all for your inputs.
