Family Christmas Tree is done! (pic heavy)

DH & I went to tree farm Sun. afternoon ...busy Mon & most of Tues but we got lights on last night ...& today decorated ...ahhh!

It's a fir tree ...here's a full view:

We bought LED lights the last few yrs so there's like 5 strands of 50 (ones w/cone bulb) & a strand of blue mini lights which you can't see in the above pic but you can here:

Our tree is just an old fashioned Christmas tree covered w/yrs of accumulations...like these homemade snowman ornies:

But the most fav of all (for the little ones) is Mr. & Mrs. Santa under the tree...they still move & hold their candlelights:

Gorgeous, worth every minute you put into it. Love the old fashioned trees. I was planning to have one in my foyer this year. But, I would have to sell my piano, and hubs said no.

That Mr. & Mrs. Santa are priceless!

Thank you for all the awesome comments guys! I have not been well the last few days and those have really picked me up. I usually do much more all over the yard but found I was very strapped for time this year. Also things are coming to a time to say goodbye to this old house so I didn't haul out a lot that is better left until next year. It was fun all the same and the neighbours just loved it! In fact, my next door neighbour who is always giving me a hard time, wants me to help her make some trees. I hope to have a whole farm full next year! Sending happy, healthy, positive vibrations to all for a great year ahead! Namaste Ginny

Betty, you just showed WHY we've all missed you so much... your photos, your stories, your sense of humor, your Alfred. I'm so glad you are back. He's just the sweetest man and you are so lucky to have him. And getting those pretty Peace ornaments for him was very special. Your tablesetting is beautiful, ALL of it. Those dishes are to die for. I mean I am seriously loving them! And like Jeanne said, they were meant for you to find. (but be careful showing Jeanne anything with pines, LOL. She's like Luvs and her acorns.) As for Christmas stuff during the summer months.. BRING IT ON. That really helps me deal with our 100 degree days and think good thoughts. hugs, Karen

Thanks everyone for the compliments. -the old stove im my kitchen was an anniversary gift from my hubby about 15 years ago. It does not work, but it is my prized item. I have always put a silver tree on it in memory of my grandma, she alwya had a silver tree decorated in blue -the buffet contains an old wicker sleigh that belonged to my hubby's great grandmother, none of the grandkids wanted it, thought it was ugly, i loved it---the old tool box was a find this summer on the Nebraska Junk Jaunt, the old window was from our barn, and there are glass bottles that I wrapped with jute twine, (an idea I got from here), the pinecone wreath my mom made 10 years ago, -Karen you mentioned my bird garland, it is actually poinsettia garland I made from those fat pipe cleaners. Here is a closeup of it and directions. Thanks again to you all for your lovely comments. I enjoy sharing with you. I really love to see all of your ideas and decorating as well. Oh & I found this brass sleigh & reindeer I found this summer @garage sale...so I added it to the 'Old World Santa window' vignette: Last mo I found this wonderful 'basket' cone tree @TJMaxx & had to bring it home ...it will have a display by itself somewhere later ...but right now I added it behind the Woodland Santa vignette on the porch: Special hugs to your & yours tonight on this dreadful day of loss for so many loved ones. Wonderful tree and even more wonderful memories - my favorite type of tree is the old fashioned tree where you can actually stand there and look at the ornaments and each one tells a story or brings back a memory - TFS .....

Jeanne, your tree is stunning. Sounds fun to go pick out a tree at a tree farm. We haven't done this for years. I didn't pull out any of my ornaments this year so it was great to see yours all decorated with memories.

Mr & Mrs Claus, snowies and bear are such a nice addition around it all lit up. I really like your star on top too. I'm so glad you shared this.

Lovely tree Jeanne...nothing like a fresh cut tree.
We've been doing that since DD was a baby. I don't have one inside anymore, but continue the tradition with the one on the outside porch.
I love how you decorated yours and with all your memorable ornaments..those are the best.
'Mr & Mrs' are my favorite of yours too.
They make such a nice glow under the tree and love that they move too. I can see the kids loving them and I think they'll always remember them too.

Just was looking thru old Christmas pics & we got Mr. Santa 15 yrs ago ...& he's still going strong...doesn't play music anymore...think his hand has been squeezed so many times by 'gr'babies' & bigger ones, too!

Mrs. Santa came the next yr (after Christmas sales) ...they were both purchased at pharmacy, called "Osco Drug" then.

Plastic Mr. & Mrs. Santa (w/light inside) used to be under our tree all the yrs. before these came! Glad you enjoyed! Jeanne S.
