comcast email box huge

My mailbox at comcast says I have 184 emails in my inbox; when I click on the inbox, it says it's empty. My mail goes to comcast and on to outlook express. I know there are not 184 emails in outlook express as I read and delete daily. Where are these emails comcast is talking about. Also, I delete the emails and they disappear and weeks later, my recycle bin shows a huge bin full of stuff, not necessarily this email trash. This happens after emptying the bin every other day. ...any clues here?

I assume they are talking about at your actual comcast email not at the outlook express client. Log on to your comcast and go directly to the comcast email there and see if you have emails there.

I use Road Runner for my email and I have to log in to see if I have Junk emails because sometimes Road Runner will place an email from a forum I post in, and place it in the Junk Folder. So anytime I post in the forum and expect a reply, I have to check Road Runner to see if it went in the Junk file.
I check Road Runner every time I get email during the day. If the junk file gets a lot of junk emails, I have to empty it to keep it from building up.

Well, I am still one of those without my personal e-mail addy listed on my member page, but can have e-mail sent to me through GW. In the past, I have had my addy listed and have had serious problems with spam mail that comes from other forums on GW. Since I post on quite a few of the other forums on GW, I found that some of them do have their fair share of spam type posts; advertising for various websites, products etc. When my e-mail addy was available for anyone to see, these posts would pop up on these other GW forums and within an hour or so I would have the spam coming to my e-mail box about the product, site etc. Once I realized where all this spam was coming from, I removed my addy from my member page, and that was the end of the spam coming from here. Hope you all understand why I no longer have my e-mail addy available to see, but as I said, you can send it through GW and I would say that 95% of the time I don't have a problem getting it. Fran

Our electrician put in an electrical outlet; and there is another *open* fixture next to it. I'm guessing that is where the cable will be *snaked* up. Geezlouise I sure hope they won't refuse to do that! When we bought the television they had an amount like $300 or $400 included to install & set up everything. They said their technician would not leave the house until we absolutely understood everything we needed to know about the remotes, recording etc. etc. etc. My husband was horrified and said thanks but no thanks. I, on the other hand, KNOW that neither one of us will know what the heck to do with this expensive piece of equipment. Obviously for the $25 charge that we will be charged for tomorrow will only cover the connection and nothing else. (I am not a happy camper!) For instance, the store said they would be able to make all kinds of adjustments that I think are important. For instance, reducing all the *background* noise that so many programs have now. Did I mention, I am not a happy camper. Thanks for the replies ............

I just had a call from AT&T (my landline and cell carrier) that ended with me telling the guy to eff himself. I try not to let it come to that, but I lost it. It was a call to get me to sign up for U-Verse. Normally I don't answer the calls, but the same number called 12 hours apart and I wanted to put an end to them. Often you can press a number to be taken off the list, or the person at the other end will say OK when you request it verbally. I have no illusions that it really happens. When I told the guy to please take me off his list, he said, OK, but let me tell you about the great offer. I repeated myself 3-4 times and he had the same response. I told him he was mentally-challenged in a most insensitive way. This is when I knew I had lost it. Was there someone at the other end of the line holding a gun to this guy's head? That, no matter what my response was, he had to tell me how great the deal was or die? If all the words come out of his mouth he gets paid some pittance? It makes no sense to me. Who came up with such a moronic way to make a sale?

Maggie, X1 is an option, you shouldn't have to get it unless you want it! From what I've heard about the X1, you're able to record up to 6 programs at once (each box). It also comes with a Voice Remote (so you don't have to push buttons). Here is a link to the: Comcast X1 Platform Users Guide We have Comcast here and our package is pretty nice. We have HD TV (yes HD is a much better picture). With our TV package we have 1 Motorola DVR Box (can record 2 programs at once) and 3 Adaptor Boxes for other rooms (the adaptor boxes are HD too). We have all the Movie Stations; HBO, Starz, Cinemax, Showtime, Encore, etc.. Our Internet is a decent package (can't state the speeds, don't remember) but it's fast. We also have Phone Service with 12 calling features. Our cable bill is usually under $200 a month. If our bill starts going up I call and tell them I'm going to have to drop things (can't afford them), they then make me an offer to keep if under $200. My last offer was $167 + Taxes.

I am talking about my Comcast email; when I log in to the account and go to my in box , there are no emails there. Yet, they tell me there are 184 emails in my account.

ah it sounded to me like you were saying that you check your comcast mail through outlook express not directly from the comcast site, that was why I suggested going directly to the comcast email account itself rather than the outlook express.

I would think you may have to contact comcast and find out.

I don't use Comcast, but every email account I have ever used has had a "Sent" folder that would save all the emails I sent out. Some give me the options of turning off this feature and some didn't. You might check to see if you have a "Sent" folder and see if that is where the large email count is coming from. Just a thought......

That's a good idea. My sister never realized they were saved there and she found hundreds of them there.
