hmmm .wmv is Windows Media Video file. You said something about DX, which some use to refer to DirectX , but I'm wondering from your description if it may actually have said.. DivX ...which if a compression format that maybe you dont have, which possibly will play that .wmv files video in Windows Media Player. DivX is available here and is about 17 MegaBytes. .wmv files, normally most people wouldnt use Real player to play a .wmv file . Kind of suprised it does.

Ok I'm not making myself clear I think. I can make a CD but I can't play a RealPlayer file in my car, it has to be converted to MP3 I think. I do have Windows XP, but not sure that has anything to do with it. The file is a Bible study file in RealPlayer format. Does that help?

Might want to look at 'Real Alternative' plays most of the Real files in old fashioned windows media player. Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm

To be on the safe side, right click the file and rename. Something like mcs.rma.old and basi3260.dll.old Then restart the computer, it will be as if they are gone or deleted. If you find that Customer Service was wrong about deleting these files, you can always go back in an remove the .old at the end and be where you started with the orginal files. If everything works out ok, you can go and delete the files at your leisure. The warning for system folders and files is because they don't want you to willy nilly or randomly delete system files unless you know what's what.
