Real Player

I wanted to listen to a program online yesterday on a NPR station. It said that Media Player didn't support PLS streaming anymore. It said that I could get Real Player, which I did download and install which took most of the program time. Then I never could get the program. It didn't recognize that I had it for some reason. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Sometimes restarting the computer will help. Have you tried that?

I think I have figured it out today. When I want to listen to that radio station, I have to manually open Real Player. Thanks for trying to help Bob.

hmmm .wmv is Windows Media Video file. You said something about DX, which some use to refer to DirectX , but I'm wondering from your description if it may actually have said.. DivX ...which if a compression format that maybe you dont have, which possibly will play that .wmv files video in Windows Media Player. DivX is available here and is about 17 MegaBytes. .wmv files, normally most people wouldnt use Real player to play a .wmv file . Kind of suprised it does.

RealPlayer updates

Urlee... If your Real Player is working fine, I would not download anything. Read each item...and decide if you actually want or need the item. The 'critical' update, I think, wants to install the latest version. No need if your's is working correctly. The 'plug-ins' are just things you might want to have, although personally, I've never had any need for them. In fact, I seldom use Real at all. Real has way too much 'stuff' that uses resources. Hope this helps... txKen
