Wow, your cake plate turned out great. How clever to use a bowl and plate to make it. What kind of glue did you use on it. Nice set you've ended up with.

very nice. I like how your cake stand came out. I'm interested too, in knowing what type of glue you used. Can it be washed? I've made something similiar w/glass candle candle holders or glass dessert dishes, however I only used temporary 'stickem'. I was always having the horrors, that someone would pick up the dish, and the other part would fall. So, I'm really curious in knowing what you used. I think I'd like to try something more permanent like you did. TFS

Those are real nice, but they do not have those at my dollar tree,,,

GE Silicone II for Doors 'n Windows, clear. Its what everyone uses over on Garden Junk to do Totems and mosaics and anything else. Needs to 'cure' overnight, tho it feels pretty set after a few hours. Its great stuff we think.

Great minds must think alike. ha I've already done what you just did, but I don't know how to post pics. I also took three plate with the bowl on the bottom turned upside down, and put marguerita glasses between the plates to form a stocked 3-tier serving tray for our church tea. I'm going to put one of these plates on each table with a beaded fairy sitting on top. I'm going to hot glue the plates for the tea since they'd be so hard to store. I have to make 8 or 9 of these. I'll just put the blow dryer to them, hoping to break them apart after the tea. I haven't tried to do that yet. The plates are just gorgeous, but they're all sold out here. Of course, I'm part of that reason because I bought them for my church. Also, Paula, the large snowflakes from Dollar Tree that have glitter on them make great place mats underneath these plates. That's what we're using. The first layer of our tray (one for each table) will have mini quiches and sandwiches, the middle layer will have fruit and veggies, and the top layer will have cookies that everyone is baking.

Your set looks really pretty, Paula, and I know that you can use these plates for every holiday. Just change the color of the mats and decor. Pat

That was a very creative way to make your pedestal plate, and the pumpkin and leaves look great on it. I've always liked crystal dishes and bowls too. Luvs

Karen..thanks for the tip on the GE Silicone II. I will have to look for it. Would I find it at Home Depot?
I've been looking for some sort of medium to do that kind of stuff. I guess then that it's waterproof,which is great. I've got to continue to 'pop' into 'Garden Junk', to keep up w/all of those great tips. Thanks,

Yes, I get mine from Home Depot now. Walmart has it but often its outdated, and if that stuff is old it won't hold up. Otherwise, its great. I was buying the small bottle but last time got the calking gun and large tube.
Just be sure you get the clear, and check the date on it.

You guys are a bad influence! I found these plate at my dollar store yesterday. Didn't realize they were back the isle on the bottom. (I was looking up front with the others) Now I'm temped to buy like 20 plates so I have enough for all the people at holidays!! They are a little smaller than a normal dinner plate though. Why couldn't they have made them a little bigger? Also considering those snowflakes. haha oh my. Someday I'll be a full blown dishaholic too!
