I can't believe so much can always go wrong on the computer...

Now- when I go to 'Petfinder', I get taken away to another site- I can't tell what the site is, though- there is no 'title', 'heading', whatever. I have shut down my computer 2 times. Somebody, please go to Petfinder.com, and try to look for a dog/cat- see what happens to you!

I still can't play a cd- nothing I have searched has worked- it just doesn't recognize that there is even a cd in there, and it keeps popping out....sigh....big sigh... Grrrrr

Everytime something goes wrong, or I can't do something!!!

Petfinder is working fine here. Found a wonderful dog or 6 that I'd love to bring home, as usual. Using IE6, if that makes a difference.

The site works perfectly for me. It gets me to a pet adoption search engine, and I can enter a breed and zip code and it brings up all kinds of pictures.

Whatever problem you have is probably not going to be solved by rebooting the computer. Can you go to other web sites? What browser do you use? And what operating system is on your computer?

I just wanted to say thanks everyone!! Very informative articles and so much knew stuff you learn each day comming here...I never understood this about bark and wood.. All I can say is thanks! I FINALLY found some! Fir bark... I remebered buying orchards from someone I met in my area over 5 years ago that was growing beautiful and citrus back then, and I remembered him saying someday he was going to sellevery good supply he could think of for orchards and tropicals, to help people be sucessful at these plants. It was a dream of his. I saved his number from then. I called him, and come to find out, he is a big supplier of YES!! "fir bark"...We were both happy to hear from each other besides. He has fine and or small and medium grade...He says it's real real good stuff. He specializes in this bark..NICE ha. Now I am excited. I get a FREE delivery of three bags within the next couple of days... I will take a pic, and you can see if it as nice as he says when I get to using it.... If it is, then I would be willing to tell you where I got it privately, since it can be VERY difficult to obtain this hard to find good stuff..:-) A secret he shared. I asked him how his plants were doing. He said better than ever before, since he waters his plants once a month with, ready? Seltzer water, sodium free.... He explained the benefits in detail, hard to remember...Hummm.. As anyone ever heard of this, watering container plants with seltzer water?

I for some reason put more emphasis on texture or in many spots in my garden with shallow soil raising the level. I have also used grass clippings on top of newspaper. And Rose Tone. Occasionally Composted Cow Manure and some Milorganite. Then I have several old coompost piles that have been lying there overgrown with vines, covered with fallen tree branches and otherwise somewhat inaccessible. In short I have been too lazy to get at them. I promise to do that whenever the soil thaws. I've had at least a couple of soil samples done by Cornell that I find not very useful. Both have come back with the conclusion that NPK is high. Organic level 4.6%, no comment as to whether this is high, low or adequate. The analysis posted on GW brought a response that the iron level, 7#/ acre, was low. Have been adding iron lately that seems to help. I notice in checking the last one that the pH is on the low side, 6.2. Might be a problem so will add lime again. Anyway I'll give a lot more attention to adding organic matter!

Congratulations! As Rebecca said, yes, weave in your tail. Be sure to go up and down, not side to side. Side to side will take away from the stretchyness provided by the ribbing at that point. (I once did side to side weaving on a sock where I changed colors frequently, and it really make the sock hard to get on.) Can you join at cast-on so you don't have the dip? I join by the trading stitches method. I don't know how others do it. Yes, picking up stitches for the gusset is the hardest part. I usually pick up 2 extra also. I bought double sets of needles and worked on each sock alternating back and forth so they were both done at the same time, but I have never had "second sock syndrome" where I didn't want to start the second one. He wants to play with your masterpiece, your fabulous creation!!!??? LOL! Oh well, at least he takes an interest in what Mom's doing. Tell him you'll knit him a pair to wear one of these days. Cute story.

OMG. It's beautiful!!! It has taken a long time because I sanded, primed (with stinky BIN), and so on, on weekends. I still have to do the doors to the bottom cabinets. But it is so pretty! In the center where most people have a TV, I have my iguana enclosure, I watch Herman more than I watch TV anyway. I bought an airless sprayer and it is the biggest pain in the behind ever, and if you don't have experience spraying you can overspray and get drips. So all further painting will be done by brush.

raven- Thanks for the other free site.
I did do the Malware scan and looked for an update. I had scanned the day the problem started with malware, did the daily scan, looked to update AVG.
The scans all said there was not anything to get rid of. I didn't do well trying to save the log.
Yesterday I would be on the computer, then, 'Presto-Change-O! All of a suddun everything would close- FAST! I would be with my shortcut icons on the left of the page with the regular bluish screen that normally comes up when you start up. That happened several times. When I get a 'secondary' screen-smaller than the other, the upper, right hand portion where 'minimize', 'maximize' and 'x' are supposed to be are gone- about 1/2 inch of the blue stripe at the top is gone- I just 'guess' where the icon will be and place my pointer there...
If malware, AVG, superantispyware say there is nothing bad can there still be something?
Also- I can hear my cd- it makes noises like it is trying to read something (about every 30 sesonds), but I don't have a cd in there. I did put a cd in there to listen to, but now it doesn't do anything. Acer had the computer 3 times and never addressed the problem- said it worked- when I opened the box and put a cd in, it did it immediately. Acer is %^*!!I have been trying for hours at a time, several days to make the cd work, so I can put some songs on my Sansa, but never to happen.

I can't believe so much can always go wrong on the computer...
