I think it depends on what Comcast service level or type you have - call and ask. We have that capability with Dish with its included Sling feature. We use it around the house - our iPad or any PC becomes a connected TV from which you can watch current content or recorded items on the DVR. The same content can be watched from outside the house so long as the internet bandwidth you're going over can support it. I've watched recorded sporting events, local news programs and even SNL from across the Pacific and across the Atlantic, as well is within the US. It's very convenient and cool to use. Our kids who live out of the area use it to watch local sports teams too.

Do you use it frequently? We use ours daily. We wake up to the news and I come home for lunch M-F and tune into shows during that time. We also watch TV at night, especially before bed. Do you spend the big bucks on cable for the TV and not watch it very often? Yes, and I feel ripped off with Directv. Also do you fight over it with your SO? No. We have multiple TVs so if we disagree on a show then I just watch in a different room. Our house isn't that big and it's just me and the hubby. We have a 54" in our living room and I don't consider that very big anymore. When we replace it someday we'll go to 65-70". Our living room is open to the kitchen and I have to squint to see the guide on my 54" so bigger is needed lol. In our bedroom I think we have a 46" ?? It's not very far from our bed so it's plenty big. And in the basement we have around a 50" but we never go down there. Our TVs are older but get the job done. It's so hard for me to spend money on an item when I have something that already works. So I just wait until things break. I'm down to my last working HDMI port on the living room TV so once that one goes then I'll cheerfully buy a new 65-70"...

A Roku dongle is a small piece of hardware that plugs into a dumb (older) TV''s HDMI socket, to give a dumb older TV the same capabilities as a newer Smart TV.. Which is to say, newer TVs have network connectivity (whether by ethernet cable or WiFI) built in, along with apps for streaming signals from popular services that are supplied through an internet connection. I absolutely, positively WOULD NOT enter my own streaming service log in data (user name and password) into either a smart TV or Roku (or Firestick) dongle in a place I was staying at for a short and temporary period of time. Instead I would use my own device (whether a PC, a Tablet, or a smartphone) to access the streaming service and then "Cast it" to the Smart TV or Roku device. Most have this capability. That way, the third party owned hardware is only getting a signal from your device, not log in information. For many people, their YouTube TV sign in is also their Gmail email account sign in. Edit to add - another simple solution is to bring a laptop that has an HDMI socket and an HDMI cord. Access the TV content source on your PC, then connect the PC and the TV with the HDMI cord and use the TV as a large format monitor.

" Does $62 seem high for basic internet service? " If you have the lowest bandwidth tier, then yes. I pay Comcast $35 (after saying I wanted to end my service), for 75Mbs. Excellent service. That's more than adequate and an amount a two person household would never need. My Spectrum service is $80 per month and, as I mentioned before, sub-par service. I told them I was going to switch to ATT fiber for around $50 and it was "so long, it's been good to know you". I didn't go through with the change because I didn't want to relocate my network equipment but I probably will at the next price uptick.
