albert- If your wife used Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, it has removed most, but not all, of McAfee. (If she did something else, like only deleted the shortcut for McAfee, it's still there). You can go to the link posted above for the McAfee Uninstaller, download it, and run it to remove everything. I believe it works even if you have already done a partial removal, but not sure. At any rate it won't screw anything up to try it. Also, I've never seen McAfee automatically bill for a subsciption renewal without your consent. I suspect one of you clicked on a button somewhere - like in an email to you from McAfee, or in an update notice as the program approached the anniversary date - and that you agreed to renew your subscription, and probably had to enter your credit card info for the subscription. Lastly, reassure me that you are running some other kind of antivirus software on your computer.

That was the first anti virus I used, I was new to computers so I can't judge how well it worked. It was very hard to update and expensive. When I started posting in here I found out about free software and used AVG, then Avast until they became a problem. They both did their job well, just had to many false positives and conflicts with other software. Now I use MS Security Essentials and have not had any problems with it like I did the others.

RC, No Soliaire is not listed in the games at all. Just a bunch of games I've never heard of. I don't have the netbook on right now so I can't tell you exactly what they are. I thought about trying Revo and see if that works. I'll do that later so thanks for the link. In regards to the touch pad; I did alot of research about the problem and others seem to have the same thing going on. I applied a couple of the suggestions and it seems to be better, but I haven't done alot on it since the changes to really tell. Just incase others need/want to know: Go to the control page, then to mouse. Click on the mouse icon and there is a tab at the top for the touch pad. There you will find "Devise Settings" and then "settings". Click "Tapping" and remove the check from the box labled "Enable Tapping". For the sensitivity: Going the same route, look for "poperties" and expand to find "Sensitivity". Click on "Touch Sensitivity" and move the slider towards the "Heavy Touch". Make sure you have clicked "OK" after each change. FYI: This instructions are for the "classic view" in XP. I personally do not like using the touch pad and on the netbook it is so small its even more difficult. Its just necessary because of not always being able to use a mouse. Believe me I will be getting a mouse to use when we can!! I love my Logitech mouse I have for my laptop and that is what I will be getting :o) Mary

I have McAfee on one of my xp boxes because it is free with my verizon but I am in the process of changing to one of the free ones too just because I need to thin down that machine and McAfee is too large. I am going with Avast this time, the new AVG 8 has had a lot of issues so want to wait on that one till they get it all worked out. Avast is a very good program and many people moved to it that left AVG. If you go to the Avast link for download you can look over on the left they have 2 very good informative pdf manuals that give detailed install and use directions. avast! 4 Home Edition it is free but you do have to do a registration which is very simple and explained on the site.
