Replacing a sink in a tile counter

Is it likely to be feasible to replace the sinks in our bathrooms without screwing up the existing tile countertops? We have two bathrooms with sinks that are badly chipped and rusting, and we'd like to replace them. Both bathrooms have tile countertops. We're not really in love with the tile, but it matches tile in other parts of the bathroom and we don't want to take on the project of replacing it all right now. So if we're going to do this, we need to figure out a way to remove the old sinks and put in new ones without destroying the existing countertop.

Am I wasting my time to even think about this?
