Replacing faucet in self-rimming bathroom sink?
Comments (1)No. The faucet can be replaced without removing the sink. But if you are like my spouse, you'll have to remove all the cr*p in the cabinet so it can be accessed. I did our kitchen faucet recently and made it a bit easier by laying on a auto creeper that put my old bod at the same level as the bottom of the cabinet while I slid into the cab to remove the old and install the new....See MoreReplacing Bathroom vanities without flooring underneath
Comments (6)Don't try to match. It'll just look like a bad patch. Make it look deliberate, treat it as a feature. Have fun with it. Create a border around the vanity and fill the remainder with mosaic tile in the colors of your existing tile mixed with colors of the rest of your bathroom. Make sure you remove enough old tile, linoleum or wood flooring around the new vanity to leave enough room for the border as well as some of the new fill tile to show. Just like with an area rug, you want to be generous in size. If you have beige tile and say, black accents in the bathroom, you might want to choose a solid black tile for the border, then you could use mosaic tiles in beige tones and sprinkel in some black ones to fill the rest. Alternatively, if you find tile that almost (but not quite) matches your existing tile, you could do the border in mosaic tile, or a contrasting rectangular tile and fill the center with the almost matching tile. I only advise you to do that though if the border helps to visually separate the tiles enough to make the slight difference disappear. The sky's the limit. Good luck!...See MoreReplacement bathroom sink stoppers?

Comments (3)sorry, but that was very poorly done. you don't need a side splash (there are other options) , certainly not one done in that manner. This one is also incorrect. they're too thick. they probably cut the backsplash piece from a leftover piece of the granite. But, at least it's sitting on top. This is your basic Lowes, 30" vanity and countertop with a 1/2" overhang. looks like a 2-3" backsplash piece, installed correctly. they have a budget/basic 4" spread faucet. This is an option. (wall treatment like this shiplap on the side) or you could use tile. But if you feel you really want one, install the vanity/countertop, and the side portion goes on top. It should NOT be done like your current one. here's a pic of one we did on a budget redo but someone Sits right on top, along w/the piece across the back. (BTW, if you do a wall mount faucet, you'll gain a lot more countertop space and easier to clean) this lined up fine w/the plumbing you're getting a new vanity w/a diff countertop? any idea what type? The measurement of the vanity is usually 29-30" (for that size) with a 1/2" or so for the countertop overhang. You shouldn't have to worry about moving your plumbing....See Moreweedyacres
