Adobe Reader problem

I'm having a problem opening a rate schedule with the Adobe Reader offered by my credit union.

It takes several minutes - then the message "something is wrong with Adobe Reader - logout and re - etc."

When I do, it shows the schedule downloading to a temp file and the site is "beyond Adobe Reader".

This seemed to happen when I tried to download the latest 8.1.1 update. Since then I've attempted to delete old versions and re-install Adobe Reader, but it isn't removing the old program.

Help. It is affecting pdf files.
