Couple of ideas. Pick any .pdf file on your computer. If you can't find one just search *.pdf. Right click on the file name and choose "Open With...". When the dialog box opens, select the version of Acrobat you have and make sure the little check box is check in the lower left corner that says something about "always use this program." There's also a setting somewhere in your browser that tells it how to handle various document types. The exact process varies by browser but you want to look in tools, options, or preferences.

This is pretty much what I see of mugo pine around here. The love affair ended several decades ago and we rarely see them in new plantings. I'm guessing whatever disease this is hasn't reached the rest of the country (yet).
