I'd like to put in a plug for Brother Corp. I have a cheapie 4 in 1 fax, copier, scanner, printer that I bought over two years ago. I received an e-mail from Brother giving information about software for Vista. Included in the e-mail were links to use for the various models they make. Now I call that service! I have a HP printer and an Epson scanner. I had to go to their sites to check about updated drivers to use with Vista. I have no intention of changing from XP to Vista soon, but it is nice to know that these are available.

I would bet if it is a new pc with windows 7 it will be 64 bit. You can always try to do the install and let it find the printer, it will give you the option to find your model number in the list and it may well just get the proper driver and install.
