I did not think about the glazed porcelain. I have both types in the new house. So, tedious line by line method it is. Will probably save me some $$ by doing only the grout lines. I want to do the granite as well. And was wondering if I could do the cultured marble in the kids bathroom while I'm at it. You know. Kids manage to produce interesting and unusual stains.... And since I'm already doing their marble cultured countertop and sink combo, and my master granite counter, why not do the porcelain sink as well? Unless that is already glazed. I will have to check that one with the builder. After I posted here, I went ahead and submitted a question to the manufacturer. I did not include the bit about glazed tile, since I didn't know about it then. But they say it is safe to use on grouted glass tile backsplash, mosaic tile mix of glass and stone, cultured marble countertop/sink, porcelain bathroom sink, concrete garage floor, concrete patio floor, and concrete driveway. Based on their website, tha haze happens when the dealer dries before buffing, or applying too much product. So, question. If I'm doing grout lines only, do I still buff?

Sealer fights against staining, but offers no protection against etching. Unless you live in a nunnery, I'd suggest a porcelain look-alike. Sneak into the Men's room at a Vegas hotel and peek at the marble floor on the urinal wall and you'll see my point.

I spoke to one of the workers today and told him it was industry standard to use this plastic. I don't know anything about curbs or mud, or any of those other words. I asked him about this book, and of course, he looked at me like I was crazy. My husband spoke to the contractor who said this is totally unnecessary, and that he has been doing this for years this way, even in his own house. -- I told him .- this puts me in a weird predicament because I don't want the job to be done wrong, and I'm not convinced that this is right. We are at a stand-still. I want to take a hammer to those tiles-- I am waiting to hear from the store-owner who sold me the tiles and ask her advice about what I can do now..... I am also going to ask her about the glass shower tiles with cold and hot water. This is why I hired a Contractor -- I don't want to make all these calls and teach myself how to install a bathroom, or a floor, or a fireplace! Creative - I cannot thank you enough. Thank you. I will contact the owner and let him know. I will also request that they send someone else out to do the cleaning and not the guy that somehow seems to keep making things worse. This isn't the first time during this job that I had to call and have someone come out behind him to clean things up. Thank you for telling me that I should be left with a clean installation.
