cannot access ClipArt from Microsoft

A essage comes up saying this could be because of Network resources or removable storage. I have a DELL INSPIRION 6000 laptop with windows XP.

Missy, how are you trying to access the clipart? Do you have Microsoft Office Word? If you do you can access it there. Once you are in Word go to search and type in Microsoft Clipart and Media and on your keyboard hit enter, on the right of the page you will see Microsoft Office clipart and media etc, just left click on that and it should take you to the Microsoft clipart site. If it doesn't then, I am sorry I can't help you any farther someone else will have to take over from here.

The only way I have found to access clipart is through my Word Program....it was so easy and nice with Windows 98, but a few more steps for XP...it's till there, though, and you can organize and save clips...now this might just be me (could very well be) but if I want to use a clip in something other than my scrapbooking (which I do from Word)...for instance if I want to use it in Outlook Express, I e-mail it to myself. Then, "save as" and put it in a clipart folder. You can also use Outlook Express to e-mail directly from Word and that works well also...

It is truly unfortunate that you had a lightening event. However, this is indeed an educational experience for all users. There is no absolute protection from lightening except total disconnection, and even then there are several reported cases of resulting static electricity doing hardware damage. try googling active x for mac that will give you some info about it also one option is to run windows in your mac which would allow you to then have the same options you have in your other windows pc, you can do that with virtual machine

Finally got to the computer after a long, busy day. Pouring rain didn't help, but thank God for the rain. Anyway, I believe I'll try the uninstall in Safe Mode, and I'll be very careful to make sure the vsutil.dll is actually a ZA file before removing it. Since I don't have the Zone Alarm icon in my taskbar, I'll go directly to Start>Programs>Zone Labs and start from there (in Safe Mode of course). I probably won't get to this until some time Saturday, but I'll post back with the results. And thanks to all who have offered help. By the way, with the help of Owbist, I think we know what my sound problem is. Not sure I can fix it, but it CAN be fixed. Look at the "Lost My Sound" thread for details.
