Steve- Here is what I am going to recommend. To get to any page, you are going to need to open your browser, so I am just suggesting that, each time you have a page you want to get back to, you bookmark it within the browser rather than creating a link that may or may not work on your Desktop. You can create special folders very easily in any browser to keep it organized to your liking. Also, if you want to sort the bookmarks, you can arrange and alphabetize things as you add to the list(s). By having the links in the browser, it will be much faster than returning to your Desktop each time you want to go to a site, and you will be sure you will have a workable link this way. Once you do this, you can get rid of all those disordered icons on the Desktop. Does this make sense? What browser are you using? And do you need any help setting up bookmark folders?

Found the answer by not using that blasted wizard. Checked the box to not show the wizard at startup. Then closed and reopened Recurva and there was the advanced (?) interface. Using Advanced: after the scan there was a box beside filename at the top. Checked it and automatically it placed a check beside each filename. Whew. Looks like everything except 3 files are recoverable. In 2 hours it will be on the desktop's D: drive. Including the tree structure which I checked under options. Glad it was only the 2 major directories (folders with subs).

Go up to the right hand top and click on the square with the 2 little boxes in it. That will make your page go to 1/2 its width. Then go to the icon in the left of the address bar and click on it and drag it to your desktop. Did that do it? Here is a link that might be useful: More on it...Is FF set as your default browser? The easiest way in Firefox and Yahoo! is to go to the site you want, re-size the window so you can see the Desktop, and then right-click, and hold and drag the icon in the address bar (the one to the left of the site address) onto the Desktop. However, I find this to be a less-than-desireable approach to frequently visited sites. Any site I visit daily is just bookmarked and put on my Bookmarks Toolbar across the top of my Firefox browser. That way I don't have any extra clicks getting to the Desktop to find a shortcut. I display them alphabetically, and I've shortened the names to 5-6 letters each so I have room for about 30 or so.
