Side by Side Stainless Steel Fridge
Comments (7)Hi--my Samsung side by side (26 cuft) arrived today. It was the best looking of the bunch in my opinion, but also gets great reviews from consumers...and its design sets itself apart from many of the other choices in the field you're looking at. It replaced a 15 yo kenmore side by side ...Like you, I much prefer the side by side style. Lowes, Sears and many others just started carrying more Samsung models these last few months. Oh, and the price was very competetive....See MoreAnyone have a SS fridge with magnetic sides?
Comments (4)I just went to Sears and it turns out most of their counter depth fridges have magnetic sides. So problem solved. Thanks!...See Moreneed help, new side by side fridge, freezer door doesn't open all
Comments (15)thanks for the input guys! i had pondered the idea of moving that whole wall of cabinets to the right, but realized in doing that the stove would move. i can only move stove a couple of inches to the right (make that 2'), and still be able to fit my waist inside the corner without hip-checking the stove every time. What i really need to be able to completely open the freezer door (past the first point where the door holds it self open) as i can the refrigerator door. That requires 5 3/8'. I have 3/4' i can gain just by tightening up the 12' base cabinet closer to the stove, add another 2' by shifting all the cabinets to the right, but i'm still short 2 1/2'. These cabinets are 14 yrs old, i know i cannot get doors for them anymore, i've tried both lowe's and home desperate, so i'm thinking if i can find a carpenter to make them 9', and move everything down to the right, i might be able to hit it! I cannot modify the opening as the last poster was correct, it's a 8' tall patio door. Find a pic of how far (little actually) the door opens (while resting on the glass of the patio door) Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreThermador Fridge Side by Side Country of Origin??
Comments (7)"The plant in Turkey was originally built by Gaggenau and Miele before BSH acquired Gagg." No, No, No, moebus - This is not at all correct. That's a Bosch operation plain and simple. It was built approx. eight to ten years ago. BSH purchased Gaggenau in the early to mid 90's looooong before Gaggenau ever thought about offering refrigeration. They are a cooking co. by nature and only rounded out their product offering after being acquired by Bosch. Miele had nothing to do with building the Turkish fridge plant. They simply went shopping for a manufacturer to build them a fridge for the American markets and Bosch had a ready made platform and a factory with capacity to build it. If memory serves the first models out of that plant to the American market were Thermador, followed by the short lived Bosch models with Gaggenau being last to market. I'm not certain of Miele's timing to market vs. Gaggenau - but it was well after T'dor's Freedom series had traction here. These units still are not immensely popular in Europe where most of the platform's offerings is just too large....See Moresayde
