Looks like starphire to me, but color is a tricky thing when viewed on a computer monitor. We used starphire glass for our shower door, and for a custom glass-topped cocktail table. The edges of the glass are definitely blue, though they are a slightly greenish-blue, like yours looks in the pic (less green than non-starphire for sure). Our door had a sticker on it which the installer peeled off, and gave to me, which I think indicated that it was starphire glass, and that it had the Clear Shield coating applied to it.

BTW, your tile looks awesome--we have similar taste! Is the tile on the back wall in the shower from Artistic Tile? If so, we saw it on display in their Paramus NJ store. We used a similar look from Porcelanosa in our MB; all White Thassos circles (combined with large format glossy white rectangular tile on the tub surround, and by itself over the vanity).

I hope you can resolve this if it is wrong, so you can move on and enjoy those beautiful bathrooms!

one of my starphire has a blue edge and other has a bluish green edge! Yours does look like starphire. Your 3rd photo is proof of that. See through the glass and without the glass. No color difference in the wall tile! That is the beauty of this glass.

Thanks everyone for reassuring me. The hall bath in particular seemed more tinted than the master bath when I took the second pic.

Also, yes, cat_mom, it is from Artistic Tile! And I'm a "cat mom" too - my kitty loves to lie in the showers in fact.

Does anyone know what kind of glass the small tile in the first photo is - it is so clear there is no tint at all when viewed from the side, and I had been told it was starphire, which is why when I compared it to the edge of the glass panel, it seemed so much cleaner looking.

The tile difference could be because of the glass thickness--the tint in the glass tends to be more apparent the thicker the glass I believe.

(We used Artistic Tile's Opera glass for our kitchen backsplash--in Wolfgang White, and it is NOT low-iron glass. Therefore, it does "read" greenish at different times of day/in different lighting, as I'd imagine, do the glass circles in your MB)

cat_mom - LOVE your MB! Thanks for sharing the photos! And it turns out it *is* the depth of the glass that makes low-iron glass look green on the edge.

A different glass company came by to measure for a separate project yesterday. While I had the guy here, I asked him to take a look. He said the glass is definitely starphire, and they have that same problem all the time.

The way he explained it, the samples they give out are 6" square. They look (like my little mini-subway tile) 100% clear on the edge. However, when light has to travel through 3 or 4 feet depth in a big panel, it does look like a bright green or bluish color, and customers get upset.

I looked a glass shelves in a display case in a shop yesterday, too, and they were much smaller (maybe 2 ft by 1ft) than my shower panel and the edges were dark, dark green, not the brighter color I see.

Phew. :-) Never feels good to wonder if one was scammed, so happy it is resolved.

Palimpsest, thanks for the photo. That is VERY green looking to me, and really illustrates the difference next to the white walls. Actually, I like the way that looks in that kitchen. :-)
