I have posted pictures of the whole process of remodeling my bathroom. I have done everything diy other than the sheetrock and glass shower doors.

Looks fantastic and your photos show that it was a big DIY project. But WOW - excellent color scheme and beautiful bathroom.

Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor.

I need to take and post some more pictures. Everything is grouted (is that a word?) and boy it looks real nice. We have the shower curtain up and the shower head and what not up now. It's now usable. I thought the marble tile might be too dark for this small of a bathroom, but it really looks good - very luxurious (making the rest of the house seem NOT SO luxurious!!):) The wooden 'accents' are gone - thankfully... I've purchased brushed nickle 'accents' and I'm happy with them - boy those puppies aren't cheap either! Toilet is gone - new one is not in yet... (thank goodness for a half bath!!) I DID go with the Cadet... I'm worried about the startle factor... anyone have any thoughts...? I AM having trouble finding the 'right' counter/vanity top. I really like my 'pump' fixture so we'll be keeping that - BUT it's a 4" fixture - and now a lot of the bathroom vanity tops are 8" fixture (holes). I did find one at a discount box store - Grossmans - it was granite and 4" holes for the fixtures, AND it was 37" wide but the width was 19"!! I need something in the 22" range! Does anyone have any thoughts regarding vanity/counter tops?? I'd like to be in the $150-$200 range for this... Thoughts? firsthouse -- thank you! the walls were really supposed to be light gray... I don't think the paint was mixed correctly. I'm living with it for now -- I like the blue but really wanted very light gray... Lizabeth -- thanks so much! i found the blue accent tile quite by accident in a local tile store. i was looking for subways and found those blue accents. i have no idea who made them and the order form only has a number. i immediately loved them. I had no idea what I wanted as accents until i saw them and then held them up a hunk of blue pearl which I had already purchased for the counter. Total accident - or fate! i will try to call and ask about them for you this weekend. PinchMe -- sorry I didn't see your post till today. The mirror is a "venetian style" mirror that I purchased locally but I have seen them online too. I just wanted something really different, sparkly and sort of focal. My home is a small bungalow and this bathroom is in a hall off the dining room. If I have "dining room dinner guests" they can see that wall of the bathroom from the table. I wanted something that would look pretty from the dining room view. I so appreciate all the comments! My favorite thing of all is the glass door knob! I did my kitchen in 7/08, where I have 3 doors and I started with the glass door knobs then... slowly replacing doors and knobs through the house. I think I've become a door knob freak! Really, I just love them! OK, I'm very happy with my new bathroom, everything -- but I so love my glass knob! Haha!

We used two of the lights - one over each sink. We did another bathroom in that house (we've since moved) - that bathroom was 5'x8', and we used one of the Artemide lights. It was plenty bright enough in there! We had the lights on a dimmer, which was really nice. Yes, our contractor built out a soffit above the medicine cabinets. It wasn't my first choice for how to do it, but it ended up looking really good. I wanted to recess the cabinets, but the Ikea ones are not made to do that, and the finish details were too complicated to make it work. So we decided on the soffit, which was much simpler. I wouldn't hesitate to do it the same way again.

Wow, that is an awesome bathroom. Notice that you changed your mind about the countertop!
Extra points for DIY. I am glad that you documented the intermediate steps.

Fooled me with the countertop change. Had to go back and see if it was two bathrooms (lol) I like the (Black Galaxy?) much better :) Very nice! Love the glass tile and the glass entry door. I have a "rain" textured glass bathroom door too.

I am still working on the tile behind the vanity and toilet. I am going full height on that one wall. I added a few more pics this morning.

All the hardware is Kohler Purist series in brushed nickel.

The large 12"x24" tile is Daltile vibe series, techno beige, light polish.

The 5/8" glass/emperador mosaic is Dune Safari mosaic, 12" sheets.

The shower floor and vanity backsplash is 2"x2" tumbed Emperador dark marble in 12" sheets.

The grout for the emperador is Laticrete epoxy Mocha and the main grout is epoxy Antique White.

Are the Daltile vibe's rectified? Or how consistent were the sizes tile to tile with your narrow grout line?

Is the Dune Safari mosaic and Emperador dark marble also a daltile product?

All the tile was ordered locally through Tile 2 Stone in Rancho Cordova California. Their prices were better than any online source I could find plus they were extremely helpful. They may drop ship if you are not local. I do not know the name of the Emperador company, but the mosaic is by a company called Dune. The Daltile was extremely consistent.

I noticed the paint remover next to your epoxy grout in your album. Is that what you used for clean up?

Yes, the paint remover works awesome. There were a few places that I forgot some residue on the tiles and I used the paint remover. My tile is porcelain and I tested a scrap piece first and there were no problems with the paint remover. I highly recommend the Spectralock epoxy grout and also the paint remover for mistakes.
