The toilet is right inside the bathroom door - would you move it?

Hi All!

New poster here.

We are rapidly approaching a tear out and remodel of a not-quite 8'x8' full bath. Its the only bath on the ground level of our '59 rancher and for some reason, the original layout situated the toilet directly inside the door - not the most modest location if you know what I mean! Would this bother you all or am I just being silly?

Due to problems with the old cast iron pipes, everything for this and the basement bath will also be replumbed. So, given we're already looking at a lot of plumbing work, would you all take the opportunity and move the toilet's location? I think we could move it to the far side of the room and still be within the proper distance to the vent stack. I could then use the little alcove near the door for a much needed linen closet.

We are trying not to add on unnecessary charges, so I guess I'm asking how many of you would consider this a necessary change if it were your bathroom??
