We did not want clear glass for our master bathroom shower for reasons mentioned above. When we looked at other options we realized that "textured" could be opaque or obscure (which is what you would want if you want privacy). We opted for a more opaque look and chose baroque glass (quite pricy) because we liked the pattern and also wanted more light to filter into the shower. We didn't want to feel like we were in a cave. We are very pleased with our choice. We had clear glass before and it took a lot of effort to keep it 'clear' even though we squeeged it daily.

Before using daily shower sprays or any cleaners stronger than mild dish soap, check with the technical support departments of manufacturers of all relatively new shower components to be sure any cleaners or sprays won't damage or void the warranty of the shower components. Daily showers sprays were often specifically mentioned as "do not use" when I was choosing the plumbing "trim" items for our new bathrooms (shower valve controller, showerhead, hand sprayer, tub spout, etc.). We completed a complete DIY bathroom remodel one year ago (my first "brand new" bathroom ever), and I have to say I've become a confirmed squeegee-er and water drip wiper. I want to enjoy and maintain the "newness" of this bathroom as long as possible, so for the first time I'm motivated, rather than resigned. It took a while to train the family to squeegee the vertical surfaces and wipe dry the metal surfaces with a microfiber cloth and hang it to dry (the teenager is still resisting, even though it literally takes only about one minute), but thankfully my husband has seen the light. Of course, the daily swipe & wipe (& an efficient bathroom exhaust fan) doesn't do away with the need to clean the shower periodically, but it does reduce the effort and allow for milder cleansers that are easier on me and approved for use on my new bathroom fixtures and surfaces.

Thank you. This is actually my parent's new bathroom. They are building a house that I designed 90% of and was part of almost every decision, so in a way I feel like it is part my build, too! Only thing I think is a bit ugly is the gas wall heater, but it was something my mother wanted. In that bathroom is also a free standing linen cabinet. There is a double vanity across from the tub. And from this view from the laundry room you can see the narrow toilet. They sure have changed toilet designs over the years!

A heavily seeded glass would look nice. Try looking at outwater or architectural glass effects. http://www.arcglasseffects.com/ http://www.outwatercatalogs.com/ I think that anyone can order from outwater, I dont think that is the case from A.G.E. The reeded glass looks great also, I think it makes it a touch more modern (IMO)and the seeded glass is slightly more shaker style to me.
