Hi jannaz, Two helpers have asked you about Service Pack 3 and for good reason. Without Service Pack 3 installed on Windows XP you will not be getting automatic updates installed as they are issued. Using a computer without these updates is quite a security risk. Lets verify you have Service Pack 3 installed. Please find the My Computer icon on the desktop, can't find it there, click Start and in the start menu look for My Computer once found, right click on it when it opens choose properties. It should say windows XP SERVICE PACK 3 under System. What does yours say?

WOT just click there and on that page click on the download now and you want to get the one for the browser you use so if you use Internet Explorer choose the one for it IE if you use firefox choose the one for firefox, if you use both then you have to get both for each browser and use the specific browser to get them. that is all there is to it, after that you will see the green yellow or red circles to let you know if you want to go to that page, if it is red stay away.

zep516 -- Thanks for the response. I followed your advice, downloaded the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and ran the full scan. It found (and corrected) 19 PROBLEMS!! The error messages no longer appear at startup. I'm going to download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to my other 2 computers and scan both of them, too. It is extremely unfortunate that we have lost one of the best long time security help forums on the net, CastleCops. Much good information is now lost. I was a member there for many many years and am sad to see it gone. Other good forums with many of those members are now available which is good news. Paul and Robin did an excellent job with CastleCops, I wish them well and will miss that place. Another very good "list" site I often recommend is Gizmo's site.
