I have Windows XP Home. My mother board puked so I got a used good motherboard. It was tested and working when I got it. It is an ASUS A7V8X MX SE with AMD 2500 chip set.

I plugged in my floppy. cd roms and hard drive. I want to get the puter working properly before I install my video card and USB card.

When I start the computer it comes up with a screen thats says Windows did not start successfully and gives me options for safe modes or previous configuration. I tried all options. It doesn't work. It just tries to restart. I hear the hard drive crunch a few times then the same problem screen comes up.

I can start it and look at my bios screens. They look 'OK' to me, but I'm an amateur and I may not see the glaring problem.

What can I look for to correct this problem?

What other info do you need?

I'm using my old puter to type this. It is slow, but works...

I can be reached by cell phone. Call Dan at 248 895 1444

I have both computers side by side so I can work on one and post on this one.

Please help !

Thanks.
