It is interesting Pooh. Based on your post I downloaded and ran the program. At the moment this is still a BETA program, in other words it is being tested by those of us who elect to use it. Once all the kinks are worked out the final product will be available no doubt. On my computer it searched all 3 hard drive partitions and found 10 insecure programs and 4 end of life. However those tagged as end of life will not be removed, these are old programs I use and will continue to take the small risk they might pose. The live link to the right of each entry takes you to the needed update site for that particular program. It is one more program running in the background. Time wil tell if it stays on my computer but it is an interesting program

Hmm, FixMeStick - never heard of that one before. Of note : "Not a replacement for anti-virus software which protects PCs from infections, the FixMeStick is for removing infections that got past the anti-virus." About Norton . . . . there are various mentions on av-comparatives.org that Symantec had elected not to participate, although it's not stated as the general reason it's not included so it's a bit of a mystery. I think Aputernut's main point there was to remove any existing AV program before installing another. However, despite that it may work well for some users, it has a reputation in the IT fixit world as being (historically) heavy on resources, and very difficult to remove. It even requires a separate special tool to remove it completely. On the other hand, since a lot of people use it, it probably generates more complaints just by the raw numbers. Your mileage may vary. The problem is, once a program gets a reputation, many people may move away from it and continue to stick with their last impression of it. It's hard to keep up with every iteration of a program. Case in point . . . Internet Explorer, which really lagged for a very long time, but now has somewhat caught up with the competition. That is the "pink" card I was referring to. Correct, the newer (version 5 and up) will not recognize this card. However, all the later machines WILL. I have 4 of these cards...they are also used in the Brother P E Scan. These cards are quite hard to find for replacement those still using the older softwares. I have seen the older software sets, V 1-4 listed for sale on ebay. Unfortunately, most of them are lacking the security device. Be very careful if you buy there....be sure it is included. Many were lost or stopped working. Mine is on an old computer somewhere in this world--that was given for recycle. 24 hrs later when remembered, it was too late.

I used to draw floor plans on graph paper so that the room would be to scale. Is there a software that does this? Counting grids is so tiresome. I read previous posts on floor planner and home architect that do 3D and 2D modeling. But 1) I don't need or want 3D stuff. And the 2) the 2D stuff is confusing. The print outs don't have grids for easy counting and no measurements are displayed.
