What did you put next to your wood-look tile?
Comments (14)I haven't seen many wood tiles in person, however, I've read that it's important to buy a good quality tile if you want thin grout lines. Apparently, the cheaper ones tend to have more warping? I think I would choose a herringbone pattern in the bathroom to further discern it from the oak floor in the bedroom, in which case, wouldn't 24" be adequate? Comments (2)I'd tend to agree... Most travertine has taupe or pinkish undertones. There IS some that has a decided yellowish cast, but that stone tends to be very vibrantly colored and have lots of holes......See MoreDid you seal travertine backsplash before grouting?
Comments (3)This weekend I juse set and grouted filled honed travertine floor tile. I sleaed most of it about 12 hours before I grouted. However, about the last 20 tiles were laid in the mornging of the day I grouted. Frankly I did not see any difference in cleaning the grout off the sealed vs. unsealed tiles. I will seal, grout and all, in a few days....See MoreGranite countertops and travertine floors so over?

Just us: We're happy with wood floor and granite countertops. My joints object to hard surfaces except briefly and where they are a must, like baths and mudroom. The poly-ed wood flooring cleans up as easily as tile. Our granite doesn't require sealing or buffing and its natural patterning brings a lot of life to the kitchen. (It is cold to the touch and like all hard surfaces, unforgiving if you drop a dish on it -- but so is the sink!)...See Moreigloochic
