I don't think it is possible. I use picassa to organize my photos on my computer and I can directly upload photos to my blog from there. However I think picasa is actually "hosting" my pics on line, it just does that for me without me having to go through the steps so it feels direct. I've heard that after storing a certain amount of photos for your blog they start charging you a small amount. I can't put a pic on this forum "directly" from picassa, only blogger. Kathy

Open the Word document and place the cursor where you want the top left corner of the image. Click Insert/Picture/From file... and in the new window drill down to where the needed graphic is and click on it to insert it in the document. Clicking on the image once there will bring up 'ears' to resize if needed by dragging in or out. Be sure to use only the corner ears so the perspective is retained. You do not want short and fat or tall and skinny people or objects.

Oh, janette, you're a peach! I dug out my trusty Word manual -- MS Word, InsideOUT -- and followed up further with your border idea. I did it! I can get rid of them. For anyone who's interested, the line is called a "special effects separator." and is set up through Borders & Shading, but by using the Custom function. You select the section where you want a line at the top and bottom, then go to Borders & Shading and use the Custom function. You get rid of the things by doing similarly, but selecting "no line." YES! I'll get rid of those lines, then put some where I want them. Doing my happy dance. Woohoo!
