I have seen quite a few of the small fairies at TJ Max, Marshalls and Ross Dress for Less, don't wait too long to go and get them, they go quick! The tree topper finials are just christmas tree toppers. You might have great luck this year finding "Fall" colors in a topper as the browns, bronzes and such are a very popular christmas color theme this year already...check Walmarts, Kmart and Garden Centers great for Christmas ornaments in different colors.
I also used the simple sparkly round christmas ball ornaments placed on the plates, also look for the sparkly pinecone ornaments, I have seen them at Walmart and Kmart.
Oh, yes, you can get the flat glass half marbles at Walmart, Kmart and craft stores to spread around on the plates.

I checked Walmart today, and didn't find anything (but I did pick up some cute pumpkin ramekins...so it wasn't a total loss...lol)

I will check TJ Max on Monday (it is 30+ minutes away)...but I can stop at Hobby Lobby there too (and the Target there too)

I need to pick up some glass dishes too. I have a set of white (OLD Spode Jewel... got from my first husband's grandmother in the early 1980s...and it was put away in a top cabinet....YES it WILL be coming down!!!) I need some clear glass salad plates, etc (I did see those at Walmart)and some other items....

I need to clean out my cabinets...so I have room to store all the goodies!

gasuz, Hobby Lobby has loads of tree topper/finials. And I saw a bunch of the fairies at Marshalls (tho I got a purple one off eBay last year.)

Oh, I wish there was a Hobby Lobby near me! Even the Home Goods is fairly far from me, about 45 min away (and thru a tunnel UGH), Gasuz, I'll check to see if there are any fairies in my area left, what colors are you wanting for your design?

It's probably a good thing that Hobby Lobby is not closer or I would be there more often!

Judith you are very kind to offer. I think I am loooking for a white one (at least). I am going for something similar to your GORGEOUS white stacked plates. I am going to put it on the dining room table along with some crystal/glass candlesticks. The family photo tree is moving into the dining room this year. (It was in the kitchen last year)

I am also going to try to do "seasonal" stack plates for 2009 (I am not brave enough to try and commit to doing one for every holiday...yet). The stacked plates will move to the sideboard or somewhere else...after the holidays... so I will probably try to pick up a fairy to represent the seasons...

My thoughts (which could change once I see the fairies in person)
white fairy- for this Christmas (would also cover Winter)
pink or lavender fairy- spring
yellow or light green fairy- summer
brown or copper fairy- fall

of course, if I saw a navy blue fairy, she would HAVE to jump in the cart/buggy... because I do have a LOVE for anything blue/white.... so she would easily find a home!

Lots of ideas swirling in my head. It is a good thing I keep a notebook to write down all my ideas!

Just a quick note, I went shopping yesterday to see if I could find you a white fairy, this is what I found, they are $3.99 ea, (not bad huh LOLO). So if you can't find one let me know and we'll figure out how to do emails or something.
PS, your xmas decorations in your link are beautiful, you already have a bunch of Fall coppery colors for Fall stacking plates now from what I seen on one of your trees :)

Judith, How sweet of you! I didn't get to Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx today...other things came up (ugh)

Yesterday I did go to Marshalls and Michaels. They didn't have any, but I did pick up a 14" Annalee elf... and 5 0r 6 blue/white salad sized plates.... 4 were the same pattern, and the other 2 different...all (I think) were Johnson Bros. My husband says I am a blue/white magnet... I walk into a store and anything blue/white jumps in my cart (but he will admit it makes Christmas shopping easier for him...anything Nikko Happy Holiday or ANYTHING blue/white...and almost anything wrought iron... and I will be thrilled).....

Yes, I have some items for fall plates already :) and my stacked plates ARRIVED today! They didn't come earlier in the day (when the UPS truck came through the neighborhood)... but it came in later in the day... and since our UPS driver is a friend, he brought the box on his way home. My husband answered the door, looked at me and said laughing "what did you order?" and the UPS driver (our friend) said "I think this one is from the big guy, north pole"..... LOL

I can't wait to set them up!

I will get to TJ Max in the next few days...and let you know what I find. You ar so sweet to go look for me. I hope you found some new additions for yourself!

oldalgebra, check out Linen and Things and Bed Bath and Beyond, I have seen the stacked plates there too.

I FINALLY made it to TJMaxx and Hobby Lobby.. I found 2 fairies , not boxed like the ones you have photos of ...they were hanging with the ornaments... so I am not sure they are the same. One is gold and the other white...neither as pretty as the 2 you have pictured... I went ahead and got both.. along with some more plates (sigh). All is still in the car...

I picked up 2 finials at Hobby Lobby...neither exactly what I wanted...white one with silver tip, and gold with bronze tip.. but I will keep looking... I think I can make either work...

If you don't have a use for the 2, I will gladly take them off your hands!

(this is only temporairy, that I will be "showing" my email for GWeb, I had gotten lots of Spam before when it was up, and and weirdo folks...I can live without that) so hopefully you will see this soon, then I will have to remove it again.
