Oh, nice job! I like the way the curve on the toilet echoes the curve on the vanity front. I was going to ask if the floor was marble or tile but it almost doesn't matter because it looks so nice. Very clean and uncluttered.

Wow! Much inspiration for my upstairs small bathrooms that outside their showers are similarly sized.

Incredible proportions for this room. I thought I'd have to keep similar corner bare to avoid cramping but that open iron frame stand doesnt infringe on the spaciousness.

What size is the vanity - looks like Moravia I recently purchased.

Love how you chose a large picture. Ive done the same - use a large print in small bathroom by accommodating with with non cluttered walls. Great great job!

Do you have glass knobs on your vanity? Where did you get your towel ring?

Jaynes123, Thanks for the kind words! Planning and decorating small bathrooms is so hard. I know you will put a lot of thought into yours. The vanity is 24" wide. The brand is St. Paul "Madeline" from Home Depot. The large oil painting is an original painted by my husband. I love the look of large, simple art work in a small space.

linelle, Our contractor suggested the placement of the tile on the diagonal. He said it "leads the eye into the room". Hmmm... why didn't I think of a wine rack? At the end of this remodel, I think I could have used a glass or two. ;-) Yes, the knobs are glass, purchased at Lowe's. The towel ring, toilet tissue holder, light fixture, and robe hook are Delta "Victorian" purchased on Amazon. The faucet is Danze Prince from EBAY. The wall color was custom blended to match the trim in our 1910 house. It is a creamy white.

Divotdiva, I will pass on the compliment to my artistic husband. He doesn't like to help with renovation, but his paintings add to almost every room in our house. The baseboards were built to resemble the larger, more elaborate ones in other rooms. The scale is smaller and the design is plainer because the bathroom is tiny. The towel ring and tp holder are Delta "Victorian" purchased on Amazon.

"Simply horrid"? I'm currently remodeling a small basement bathroom that is only a little bigger around 6.5 x 7 with a 3x3 shower. :( Now you have me worried, do people not fit into a 3 x 3 shower anymore? It's actually larger than the shower that was there before, and we were working with the space we have, since it's the only other shower in the home, I didn't want to eliminate it.

Beautiful bathroom. It is lovely. I love the art by your husband. When I first looked at your picts last night I thought the boat was about the size of you bathroom 1:1, LOL. I would love to have that painting!

Roobear, my DH takes a daily shower in the basement now because my new larger shower is too nice for him :/ or is it too much maintenance, LOL. He doesn't want to wipe it down after every shower. Anyway, the basement shower is a small square pre made shower that has been down there for years and no one has ever complained that it is too small. My late DFIL was 6'3" and he used it all the time when they lived here.

enduring, that's hilarious about your DH still showering in the basement bathroom. I can relate. I'll buy something new to wear and then save it for something special, which never happens and so it never gets worn.

I bought a new, highly recommended squeegee for my new tile shower. Two rows of squeegee-ness! I have never squeegeed a tile surround before and I think wiping it down after that with a towel may be a little excessive, but I'll report back later. :)

roobear, If I had your 6.5 x 7 space to work with instead of my
5 x 6 area, I would feel as if I had breathing room. A foot or two makes so much difference. The small 3x3 shower is ok, but have you ever tried to shave your legs in a shower stall that small? LOL. I have tried; it is not fun. Shampooing your hair and banging your elbows against the sides of the shower is not optimal, either. Doable, but not preferable on a daily basis. I certainly understand that you want to keep your shower, and I am sure it will turn out great after your remodel. We have two other full baths, so I could do without the smaller shower. Please post pictures when you are finished!

linelle, I could easily become excessive compulsive about keeping a new bathroom clean. After all the time planning, construction issues, and $$$, I want it to be pretty forever.

Think your HDepot and my Lowes 24" vanities are twins, or close to it! Attached- photos from online, mines still boxed.

My plumbings is for a 30" vanity. My contractor was concerned aesthetics of 3" extra on sides but I think its very furniture-y and not flush to the wall will still look natural (at least to me LOL)

So reasonably $$ for the styling, over pricier but more generic models. Im going primarily white wood (at beach) but the curved front and wide sink sold me. Went on to track down another curved in white for powder room. Lowes / HDepot have so much variety especially online, patience & detecitve work can land you misleadingly nice looking, nicely priced items. More for those must have design splurges!.

And yours is the proof for those who think such a large print would be too large for a small room. Scale! Its the difference between accenting a room versus claiming focal point status.And thought this was famous print - truly an artist!

DH doesn't like squeegeeing the new shower but is getting used to it. When he does yard work and gets the famous Hawaii red dirt on him (it stains everything) he uses the other bathroom to shower as we didn't update that one (yet). When we do we'll keep it low maintenance.

I think I meant to ask about the "wine" rack for the towels and not the TP holder on the wall.

Jaynes123, Yes! I think we have the same vanity. I did change the knobs that came with it to glass knobs just to add a little sparkle. I like the furniture look with the vanity set a little away from the wall. The only downside is if you drop something in the area between the wall and the cabinet. You have to fish it out. I'm so glad you like my husband's painting. I think a large painting "makes" the room.

divotdiva, The towel rack came from a local consignment store. It had no label so I can't tell you the manufacturer. It was rusty so I spray painted it with Rust-oleum Hammered Black paint, which can be sprayed directly on top of rust. It fit the space perfectly.

Well it's really really cute and I agree, fits that space perfectly. I have a similar space in my toilet area so I'm thinking of what to put there, as the vanity is a bit far away to hold the extra TP should you run out while you're using the facility. :-)

Does your husband sell his paintings?

mom2sulu, I'm glad you like the powder room results. I love it when something turns out just as planned. My husband has sold his paintings through a local gallery in the past; but, when the economy fell apart in 2009, original artwork was the last thing the general public wanted to spend a lot of money on so he pulled his work out. He is no longer selling his work.

He is amazingly talented and needs to begin exhibiting again. That painting is just lovely.
