E-mailing photo's

Hi folks,

Well, something has changed in my computer.

I can no longer e-mail photo's like I once did. I don't remember changing any settings. When I go to My Pictures to send a photo, I no longer have the choice to size them. Also when I enlarge a photo from My Picturs I get the Window Media Player border on all four sides. When I am able to send a photo, it goes out as a .ink file.

I am using X-P Home SP3 with IE 8.

This problem is driving me nutz.

Download a free photo editing software, I use and love "photoscape" then when you open it and click on my pictures folder and you can then resize, fix whatever then save to your desktop as jpg then attach to e-mails or whatever, you can also make a new folder to keep them in afer you've fixed them..

Thanks for the response and help.
Before I try anything "new" I would like to get back to where I was a few weeks ago. I wish now I had a restore point.

Family in the early 1960's

I don't think we have any Cherokee on that side of the family, but you never know. These pictures were taken in Carnegie, Okla. The family has an interesting "family secret" story actually. It's like something straight out of a Lifetime movie or something. lol I just found out about it about 5 years ago. My actual biological Grandmother (who I grew up knowing as my Greant Aunt) is the lady in the first picture who is standing up and kind of leaning in... she has a white dot on her shoulder (a button maybe?) The woman I grew up knowing as "Grandmomma" is the woman sitting directly to her right. She's also the oldest woman in the 2nd photo. Her husband, my "Granddaddy", is the man whose lap my mom is sitting on in the first photo. My mom's biological father is apparently still living somewhere in Texas, but no one has seen him since probably right around the time that the first photo was taken. My Grandmomma and Granddaddy's only biological child is the boy sitting toward the middle of the first photo... in a short sleeved t-shirt. The old woman to his right is my Great Grandmother and the boy sitting on her knee is my mom's cousin. His wife is the young lady in the 2nd photo... the one who passed away just recently. Funniest part? No one seems to remember who the other young man is in the first photo. He's not family, but he must have been important enough to someone to have over for Christmas dinner. I wonder who he is?

Now that I look at it, it does have shoots but I don't remember them having several bladed coming off from them in your pictures. I know they grow like crazy if they take hold and really need to be controlled. I was planning some kind of root barrier to keep them confined. I wanted to put them as a hedge underneath my post and beam fence b/c its such a PITA to mow under the thing. If I had this I could just mow right next to it and not worry about underneath the fence. I also thought it would look neat with the posts and beams poking through and by late summer I wouldn't even see the fence at all!

Looks like it ran out of moisture. If it were any other cultivar, I'd say it looks like "damp off", which is caused by a fungus in the water. It wouldn't hurt adding a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to the water every now and then to fend off any fungal problems, by the way. The fact that the leaf margins are browning also leads me to believe it's not getting ENOUGH water. I have been told by EVERYONE that plumerias don't like water. Well, I hate to be the one to burst that bubble, but I grow them in an aeroponic grower and they get water 24/7 and they THRIVE! So, don't be afraid to water them more! God bless. :O)

you should have plenty of restore points, your pc should make them nightly. I would try doing a restore to a time when it was working properly, if you are only seeing the calendar for jan just use the little

Well folks, I am ready for plan B.
My system restore was turned OFF.
What a bummer.

oh that is not good how did it get turned off? some infections can do that. I would just for assurance run an updated malwarebytes scan update it then run full scan

Well, I just updated and ran Malwarebytes and it showed NO infections.
Is there anyway I can determine what program I sent photo's with before Windows Media Player?

you could go to control panel and re-set defaults that will reset everything to default. on control panel under add remove programs if you look to the left side one of the options is set program access and defaults.
I assume you did turn your system restore back on right?

Update on photo issues:
ravencajun: YES! My system restore is clicked ON.
zep516: Neat link, thanks. The site owner, Steve Maurer lives 30 miles south of me. We have never met tho. I ran into a issue on page 4 of the directions. It says to right click and choos Paste...that was not a choice.
I did make progress by using his information on page 7, using the regsvr32 shimgvw.dll, after doing that, I can now send individual photo's and resizing them, however, I still can't send files of photos and resize them.
I must get away from this evil machine for tonight, will keep trying tomorrow.
