Trend Antivirus taking FOREVER to Scan

Hi, I've had Trend for several years and have generally been happy with it. I renewed the subscription for another year last November. I tend to run the full scan every few days. It typically takes 2 hours or so and has been doing the usual amount of time since the renewal. However, beginning this week it is now taking much, much longer--6 hours yesterday. I thought something was wrong, so I started it again this morning, and once again it is taking much longer than it used to. It seems to get hung up on certain files, although it does eventually move ahead. I haven't done anything new--no new programs uploaded, etc. In fact, I've been diligent recently about cleaning the cache out, emptying the recycle bin, etc. Any thoughts before I make the painful (outsourced) call to Trend? Thanks.
