Websites might occasionally want to store information, such as your high score from a game that runs in Flash Player or what products you have purchased, to your computer. In the Global Storage Settings panel, you can control how much disk space websites can use to store information, or you can prohibit websites from storing any information at all. (If you prohibit websites from storing information, the website might or might not function as intended.)

some time back we had a thread where we discussed flash cookies and I had posted some links about it and what you should have the global settings on. This is a good article to explain this and also tell you about a good firefox add on which can help you control them and also how to use ccleaner to control them.

However on tab 2 of the settings manager I caution not to set the slider to zero it is best to set the slider at 10KB and to leave checked to allow 3rd party content to store data on your computer, the reason is that if you don't there are many apps you will run into that simply will not work. So instead cut it back to 10KB and on the last tab(#5) of the global manager under visited websites click delete all sites so it is cleared out and you are starting fresh then either remember to clear those out on occasion or use your ccleaner to do it or an add on. Now if you do want to set to None and not allow them that is fine but if you happen to run into things not displaying or playing properly you might want to go back and make that adjustment.

the tabs not discussed in that article are important also, the first #1 tab discusses if you want to allow any site to have use of your mic or camera this one you really want to set as always deny! There were some instances a while back where hidden scripts in websites were able to turn on a mic and hear you and also if you have the webcam built into the pc it could allow them to take it over and turn it on and watch you with out your knowledge, so you want to set deny there.
On the #3rd tab I usually set it to ask for permission so Always ask.
On the #4th tab we are again discussing the mic and cam and there too you want to set to always deny and go ahead and hit the delete all sites if any are listed.
I will put the direct link to your global settings manager below, know that what you see there is not just a picture it is the actual manager and you make your changes directly on it, I do suggest that once you make a change on one tab always go to another tab after that to make sure it has saved those changes before you close out that page.

**I have seen some cases where there are more than 5 tabs the additional tab is for notifying you if there is a flash update, you can set that if you like. If you do have that tab it will be the #4 tab so adjust these instructions as to tab number accordingly.

Also from everything I have read it appears that when you do a flash update it does not remember these settings changes and goes back to default so you might have to do this again when you update your flash.

I feel strongly you really shouldnt change away from the defaults in Flash. Unless maybe increase the storage size.

It's way too easy to not understand for most people and then they screw it up.

in your top picture I have those 2 items are checked
in your bottom pic nothing but hit the delete all sites which simply clears the list if any sites were there previously so you are starting fresh.

changing the settings for the mic and cam have been highly recommended on all the security forums and in many articles recently due to a type of clickjacking which allows someone to take over the mic and cam through an I frame script so not doing it can be quite dangerous also.
The change that usually will screw something up is if you change that slider amount to zero rather than leaving it with 10KB and not allowing the third party flash, which is why I did not suggest doing that, when that is done often times some apps will not work.
To me the important thing is setting the mic and cam to always deny. I don't really worry about the flash cookies, I can empty those out any time.
