Do you know if these threads are picture or graphic intensive?

Do you have an older system or a system that is straining its resources?

A combination of these two elements could cause a BSOD (blue screen of death) or a system lockup.

Would think its the java or activeX on the page for or from advertisers. So that would point at making sure you're up to date with Java and ActiveX.
Next thoughts would be add on popup or ad filtering like the google/aol/yahoo etc toolbars might be the cause when they see those advertisements.

I'm not sure if there are graphics/pictures involved in the threads. We have a pop-up blocker. I never see any pop-up ads. We also have this problem with the Tiger Woods 2007 game. It locks or we get the BSOD. I called EA sports and they told me to try to update a more current graphic driver. The web site showed that we already have the most recent driver.

I guess I need to see if we have the current updates for the ActiveX and Java.

This is a Dell that we bought from a friend.

Post the blue screen error the error it self will help isolate the problem..

It never says anything about an error. No message to help me. It acts like I just exited IE. Nothing else.

I wonder if I should download Firefox or something to see if it happens there.

Absolutely try another browser this will confirm a browser problem or point to something else if firefox fails.

Thank you everyone for helping me out! I just downloaded Firefox and was able to open the threads on the cooking forum without the browser shutting down. I guess it was IE that was giving me the problems.
