Have you gone to a high-end tile store yet? I've done several jobs on a shoestring budget with low cost tile that looks similar to some of the high end stuff. But more imprtantly, the high end tile stores have some very unique offerings that may have what you are looking for. You can tile everything in your bathroom at a price you are comfortable with -- and then spend a little extra to get the light fixture just the way you want it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bill, but I got my daughter to finally upload the picture for me and here it is! So, I need your suggestion on how to finish the soffit area. Should it be framed with bullnose? The decorative border will be running around 45"high around the perimeter of the bathroom into the tub area. Also, the ceiling of the tub area will be tiled. Thanks for your highly valuable suggestions!!

Will it look okay to frame the soffit area with a bullnose that runs from where the decorative border ends, up to the side, around the frame of the soffit and down the other side to then sit on the deco border?

Okay-- NOW I unnastand!! Yes, I don't see a problem with that. I'm assuming you mean running up the side from where it'll turn from the top of the wainscot around the room and go up the side of the tile where it goes to full height in the shower? When you come across with the bullnose, I'm also assuming you want to come across that outside edge of the underside of the soffit with the bullnose, and then return down the other side, back to the wainscot. if this is what you're looking to do, it's the way I'd treat it.

My listello is not flat (it's a 4" and as I mentioned earlier that it has a cap on the top part of it that's about 1") so I can't visualize how a bullnose will look sitting on it to go upwards vertically. Have you done something like this or would you have a picture of something similar? Thanks again!

I don't have any pics of where the listello has a bullnose edge, but it won't look bad. It'll just be a littl bit of a heavier grout joint right threre where the side of the bullnose and the listello meet.

Since there were no pictures available, here's what I did and I hope you don't mind. Just wanted to show you how the decorative border and the bullnose would look. Please ignore the size of the listello on the outside wall and the one on the tub side wall because they are not the same ones. Basically showing how I picture it to be - is this right and does it look right?

I'm really sorry but I'm getting so stressed over this all over again. We hired a new contractor to replace the one who ran away with my money and this new guy says this set up will not look good. That listello's going to look a bit funky just ending at the tub area. Can you continue it on around the tub alcove area and connect it coming out the other side?

Yes, I intend to continue the listello around the tub alcove area. I happen to have only one listello and stuck it onto the wall so I could take pictures and post here. So you think the bullnose sitting on it doesn't look bad?

Not even a little bit. What you have will be just fine. If your installer doesn't want to put it in, there are plenty of others who WOULD be willing.
