Luna, sweetie, I know this must have been really tough! Remember the good times! My grandsons were my Mother's Day blessing! They bring such joy to our home when they visit! (yes, they live 3 whole miles away now lol) I sent this prayer around to a few of the GJers, but I don't have addy's for all of you, so I'm going to paste this prayer/story in here, because I thought it is perfect for Mother's Day: Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged, and the mother said, 'I love you, and I pray you enough.' The daughter replied, 'Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I pray you enough, too, Mom.' They kissed, and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by asking, 'Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?' Yes, I have,' I replied. 'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?' Well...I'm not as young as I once was, she lives so far away & has her own busy life. I have some challenges ahead, and reality is - her next trip back will be for my funeral,' she said.. When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I pray you enough.' May I ask what that means?' She began to smile. 'That's a prayer that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.' She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even more. 'When we said, 'I pray you enough,' we wanted the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.' Then, turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.. I pray you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear. I pray you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more. I pray you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting. I pray you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger. I pray you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I pray you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I pray you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye. Then, she began to cry, and walked away. They say, it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them. TAKE TIME TO LIVE..... To all my friends and loved ones, I PRAY YOU ENOUGH....... May God Bless You In Ways You Never Dreamed of Today!

Thank you, everyone! Luckily, there have been no chances of frost yet, but we've come close. Some nights have dipped down into the upper 30's here, so look out ohmybloomers! You're probably not that far behind. My TC and CC that are still outside are hanging and/or sitting underneath the roof of the little wooden porch and against the wall of the house, so far, they are doing great. Denise, I have never heard the old wives tale about the locusts and the frost. So glad you guys are finally getting some rain! We had a mostly dry summer but not as bad as the Midwest. This is OT, but I just had to mention that my Moonflower Vines started blooming last night. I was out there earlier tonight enjoying tonight's lone blossom (mom forgot to tell me I had one blossom last night too lol). I hear you about the weather! It's been very wacky this year. Do you have a friend of your mother, whom you can visit and recall some of the things about your mother or things from the past that might have involved her? Possibly you may hear of some of your mother's adventures (escapades?) that you weren't aware of, earlier. Something more to add to your list of memories about her. On the other hand, another older friend/substitute that you can visit who may be lonely at times and who would appreciate a visit, and with whom you can discuss some of the events from the past that will help you recall matters close to your Mom. Dot & Jannie ~ sweet stories ~ made me smile! This is the first Mother's Day without my sweet little Mother. One of my last memories of her was last Mothers Day. Mom and Dad went into assisted living a few years ago in Las Vegas where they retired. My Mom started running away after 6 mos or so and they were both moved into memory care at the same facility. Daddy didn't have to go in there but he said he was married to her for 68 years and was not going to leave her. God Bless him. Anyway, my friend and I went to visit for Mother's Day weekend and we were taking them out for brunch at the golf course clubhouse where they used to live (their favorite place.) Mom's dementia had progressed to where she rarely said anything but maybe a word or two now and then....which never really made any sense. As we were driving over there, I was sitting in the backseat with my Mom (who by the way was very tiny, 63 lbs, and NEVER swore ~ I still have a chip in my front tooth from where she backhanded me with her diamond ring when I attemped to swear at a driver who had just cut me off. I was 37 yrs old LOL) I was cuddling her and loving on her and I told her where we were going and asked her if she was going to have something to eat with us? She rarely ate then too. She looked me dead in the eye and *winked* and said " kiss my @ss." OMG my friend and I roared although Dad was a bit upset that she swore. LOL My little mother ~ my little darlin~ I miss her!
