Florence..... I enjoyed this very much and it especially touched me because of my mom and how we came close to losing her forever. I am off to the nursing home to give Mom some extra helpings of love.... Happy Mothers Day! Celeste

Pudge, this is way too funny. I guess the most important question is, tho, - How'd they do at the casino? Did they win $10.00? That would have made their day. Bless both of my mothers' souls - my mom has been gone for 11 years and my MIL for four. I miss them both dreadfully. But they both decided that to really get me, they had to pass away on the same day of the year. I guess they figured that's the only way I would remember the date. LOL! I always knew that they were conspiring together to get me somehow. But, reading your escapades of the other day, Pudge, I could just imagine the two of them or my mother with one of her seven Victorian sisters. I think I would have been ripping my hair out by the end of that one. I am giggling so hard as I write this. I keep looking in the mirror and catching my mom looking back at me. That's what drives me crazy. Or when I talk (yell, scream, nag, whatever) to my kids with the same voice that I heard when I was a teenager. Yeesh. I hate myself when I do that. I already have days when I think it would be nice to just be able to be in the big garden in the sky. Just like the bubble or those cream cheese commercials. When my dad was departing, he used to drift into unconsciousness for brief times. He came out of one such spell and started telling me about the wonderful greenhouse that they had waiting for him - "It's so lush and green - just like a jungle. And you don't have to be afraid. It smells so nice and fresh, like damp earth." I think of that all the time and now I have days that I can hardly wait to get there. : ) Shauna

sandi, I think my friend got this one on ebay! I did see some at Ben Franklin before Christmas and they had a green one that I wish I would have bought because now they don't have any. :( luvstocraft, I am missing a couple of plates and saucers but otherwise still have most of the set (set of 8) and also the vegetable bowls and the big round platter. And NO chips on any of them! lol! The yellow tablecloth is as old as the dishes and has had lots of wear! kathleen, I didn't know there was such a thing as a olive tray before my friend sent me that one. I think they are so unique!

Dot & Jannie ~ sweet stories ~ made me smile! This is the first Mother's Day without my sweet little Mother. One of my last memories of her was last Mothers Day. Mom and Dad went into assisted living a few years ago in Las Vegas where they retired. My Mom started running away after 6 mos or so and they were both moved into memory care at the same facility. Daddy didn't have to go in there but he said he was married to her for 68 years and was not going to leave her. God Bless him. Anyway, my friend and I went to visit for Mother's Day weekend and we were taking them out for brunch at the golf course clubhouse where they used to live (their favorite place.) Mom's dementia had progressed to where she rarely said anything but maybe a word or two now and then....which never really made any sense. As we were driving over there, I was sitting in the backseat with my Mom (who by the way was very tiny, 63 lbs, and NEVER swore ~ I still have a chip in my front tooth from where she backhanded me with her diamond ring when I attemped to swear at a driver who had just cut me off. I was 37 yrs old LOL) I was cuddling her and loving on her and I told her where we were going and asked her if she was going to have something to eat with us? She rarely ate then too. She looked me dead in the eye and *winked* and said " kiss my @ss." OMG my friend and I roared although Dad was a bit upset that she swore. LOL My little mother ~ my little darlin~ I miss her!
