Thank you, everyone! Luckily, there have been no chances of frost yet, but we've come close. Some nights have dipped down into the upper 30's here, so look out ohmybloomers! You're probably not that far behind. My TC and CC that are still outside are hanging and/or sitting underneath the roof of the little wooden porch and against the wall of the house, so far, they are doing great. Denise, I have never heard the old wives tale about the locusts and the frost. So glad you guys are finally getting some rain! We had a mostly dry summer but not as bad as the Midwest. This is OT, but I just had to mention that my Moonflower Vines started blooming last night. I was out there earlier tonight enjoying tonight's lone blossom (mom forgot to tell me I had one blossom last night too lol). I hear you about the weather! It's been very wacky this year. Do you have a friend of your mother, whom you can visit and recall some of the things about your mother or things from the past that might have involved her? Possibly you may hear of some of your mother's adventures (escapades?) that you weren't aware of, earlier. Something more to add to your list of memories about her. On the other hand, another older friend/substitute that you can visit who may be lonely at times and who would appreciate a visit, and with whom you can discuss some of the events from the past that will help you recall matters close to your Mom. Thank you for all your kind words. This was my first year without him and every holiday has been bittersweet. I am one of five and the only girl. At 47 yrs. old I was still Daddy's girl. I miss him so much he was such a wonderful man. You are all right this was truly a gift from the heart that I will treasure forever. Every time I hear it gently chime it makes me smile. Jasdip, I feel like I know your mom, after seeing the picture when she was sick, and hearing so much about her zippy and fun personality :) Alisande, your mom looks like Julie Andrews! Gazania, my mom still wouldn't dream of leaving the house without earrings that match her outfit. She rarely leaves these days and takes forever to get dressed, but the woman is still put together when she does! I'm so lucky to still have her here and know this is a hard day for many--you have my sympathy, especially you this year, Raven.
