We bought a Kenmore Elite Trio last September. The first one they delivered did not cool down at all. Called and they wanted to send a repairman but my husband had them bring another one. It cooled down and then started to freeze things in the refrigerator. Repairman came out and said he wanted to replace both thermostats. Different repairman replaced those and the whole unit didn't cool down. Lost food in the refrigerator and freezer. Another visit fixed that but we still have frozen lettuce and vegetable issues. And now I've just noticed that one of the door seals is ripped! The onle thing I like about it is the large bottom drawer. To say the least we are not happy with it. We are planning to embark on a remodel and the discussion on Miele ovens is very timely. I am assuming that the users of the double ovens have cooktops. Any recomendations there?

You could also look for comments on the Electrolux/Frigidaire Twins since they are all basically the same except for amenities. We have decided on the Electrolux Twins and the salesman (of course) told us that the temperature problems had been worked out and that they hadn't had any issues for about 6 months. I don't need them right away, so I'm patiently (ok, impatiently) waiting on a sale or Electrolux rebate program. I too would like to hear from anyone who actually has recent units (Kenmore,Frig,Electrolux) and can share their experience.

Rupert: I've had this refrigerator for 2 years. The only maintenance issue we've had is the ice maker has been replaced once. I really like the unit, but here are some negatives I find. I would like a little more door storage. The small storage on the left door is almost useless. I really like flexibility of shelf arrangement in the fridge itself. Ice jams up in the storage bin. All I do is hit the bin with my hand and the ice flows freely again. Ice bin is small, not as large as the side/side. Also you can't put a very large glass in the ice/water dispenser, so you have to angle it in and put your hand behind it to push the dispenser button. Subdequently, sometimes water doesn't go right in the glass, and will run down the front of the fridge. Really a pain. I love the freezer drawers, but things do tend to get lost in the bottom. They now have a double drawer freezer which I think I would prefer. Things do freeze on the left side sometimes. You have to be careful not to bump the temp button on the ice/water dispenser. You'll learn what temps work for you, and you just have to be careful with that. We got the fridge in stainess, and the finish does not seem to be as durable as my previous Maytag side/side. I had the Maytag for 5 yrs, and not one dent. This one has several after 2 years. And the biggest thing I don't like about it is that you have to push the doors shut. They don't shut by themselves. And when you think it's shut, it's hanging open by a little bit and the alarm goes off. Hope that helps. Joyce
