Montmorrency Cherry Problem...pics included
Comments (7)Same problem here, except the bark is not damaged. Planted the North Star sour cherry bareroot in January. It leafed out fine, but something kept eating the leaves. Never have seen what it is, so I spray chemical poison every week. Still, the leaves were small and would not grow. I cut back about a 3rd the length of the limbs, thinking my roots needed less pressure on them. That seems to have helped a small tiny bit. It's been a dry Spring here, so too much water shouldn't be an issue. I do water about once a week if needed (id dirt is dry under mulch). I'm thinking cherry trees are not made for the south, I'll probably replace them with nectarine, peach, and plum if this keeps up. My whip stellas are growing leaves, but aren't making limbs...maybe I'll cut them back since they're about 6-7 feet tall....See MoreProblem with dishwasher install?
Comments (18)The installer calls bullcrap and says the install is fine and that the garbage disposal is likely the culprit and needs replacing. Judging from your photos, your repairman is correct about the bad installation; the advice of the several posters on this thread about making sure you have a high loop is excellent. However, I am surprised no one has mentioned your disposal - your installer is actually correct that your old Badger disposal should be replaced. While the lack of a high loop is your main problem, I bet the cheap Badger disposal is also a contributor since it does not grind well. When plumbers complain about disposals, it's always the low-powered Badger disposals - they're not only low-powered but made with inferior parts. They are OK for a few years, but don't last. I advise you to get a new disposal, which MUST be at least 3/4 hp and all stainless innards. Here's a couple: Insinkerator Evolution Essential 3/4 hp Disposer If you want a smaller disposer to save space under the sink, Insinkerator makes a compact 3/4 hp model specifically for small spaces under the sink: Insinkerator Evolution Compact 3/4 hp Disposer...See MoreObnoxious Air Gap Noise From Draining Dishwasher
Comments (34)You are right. Sorry I didn't catch that, in the image. You cannot leave it that way. You already know most of the big reasons why not. If you need to read all the problems, find out about sewer gases. Some are lethal (but my saying this is not designed to give you nightmares). The DW connection has to go on the other side of the P trap. You can buy more hose instead of replacing that one. Radiator hose for car motors is good because it is smoother inside. The reason these cheap hoses are corrugated is to ensure they never collapse. A smoother inside wall can reduce noise quite a bit - not in all cases, as it depends on the flow and how you configure the geometry of the fall. Comments (2)Hi Adam, Thanks for posting. After much online searching (including communicating directly with Miele, whose "Help" line was actually no help whatsoever), I was going to replace the solenoid when the dishwasher "magically" started working again (and has remained working). Try a different cycle choice, and give it a couple of minutes to try to kick in. Good luck. -Alex...See Moreweissman
